I just called to book a reservation for breakfast at The Kitchen on June 10, and apparently they are closed that day. :headache:

Is there a decent CS there? Or should we plan for an early lunch in the park? We've never been to US/IOA so I am clueless.

Is it easy to get to City Walk or somewhere? Do they have breakfast there?

The park opens at 9 AM so we were hoping to eat around 7:30 AM.

There are some breakfast areas in citywalk for a light breakfast or you might want to take a boat and head over to RPR or PBH and take advantage of the breakfast offerings they have there. There is not much for breakfast once you get into the park, last time at IOA we stopped at the pastry shop right at the entrance and grabbed a muffin. I can't think of anything at the US side but there should be something.

I doubt that The Kitchen will be closed that day. More than likely, they just don't take reservations and just accept walk-up customers. Hopefully, that's the situation.

However, if it is closed, you still have other breakfast options:
  1. Pastamore, in Citywalk serves breakfast in the morning. I've gotten a decent breakfast pizza from there in the past.
  2. Each park has a cs restaurant that serves breakfast sandwiches: Croissant Moon Bakery at IOA and The Boulangerie at US.
  3. There are 2 Cinnabons at Universal Orlando: one at Citywalk and one at IOA, for those that like cinnamon rolls.
  4. Take the boat over to RPR and have the breakfast buffet at The Islands Dining Room.

The lady I spoke to said she couldn't get the system to let her book any sort of reservation at The Kitchen for that day, which made her think it was closed. :confused3 Obviously it would be much easier for us if it was OPEN.

She did suggest going to one of the other hotels, but I didn't know how labor intensive that would be. We're just onsite for one night.

Thanks for the suggestions! :goodvibes

I would stop at the parks to get a breakfast croissant (Boulangerie at US and Croissant Moon at IOA). That way you aren't wasting your time when you could be riding something and get in for early admission!

I never heard of The Kitchen bieng closed for breakfast( I love there buffet as well as RPR Islands). We have stayed at the slowest time of year and it was allways open.I think its a glitch in there computer system.

I think so too, but last October, Trattoria Del Porto at PBH was closed for breakfast on a Thursday. When we inquired about it, we were told to use the breakfast buffet at either the HRH or RPR. From what we were told, it sounded like closing one of the buffets is common during the middle of the week. I believe it was open the next day.

Out of curiosity, I just checked and June 10 is a Thursday. So it's possible that they rotate the hotels on which breakfast buffet is closed for that day.

I called back today and asked them to please confirm that The Kitchen will be closed. The lady I spoke with today said it is open, booked a ressie for us, and gave me a confirmation number. :thumbsup2

Must have just been something weird with the system yesterday.
