I'm getting ready to book 2 nights at the Renaissance Hotel, with the inbetween day at Discovery Cove. I'm trying to decide whether to spend the extra $40 for breakfast for 4 of us. It seems like somewhere I read that they have some breakfast goodies out at Discovery Cove. If yes, I might pass on the breakfast at the hotel. Any experience with this?

Spend the extra money and stay on club level if you can.
That gets you breakfast in the club room, plus snacks in the evening.

What days are you staying? The club room isn't open on the weekends, but it's a really nick perk during the week.

The reason you want to eat breakfast at the hotel, is to save time. You need to be at DC around 08:00am, so you can get an early dolphin swim time, and not wait at the snorkle station.

If you don't want to pay for breakfast, and don't want to do club level, stop at a Publix grocery store on the way, pick up a styrophome cooler in the beer isle, and buy doughnuts, milk, juices, and beer. That way you can eat breakfast in your hotel room, and get going early. Plus when you return from DC, you'll have a beer waiting for you.
Then you can walk over to SWF to pet the dolphins again.

Both times I've been to DC they have had juice and coffee free in the 'waiting area'. The snack stand probably sells something 'breakfasty' but I didn't notice.
