We are going to DCA on a Monday morning. Staying at PPH so we can get in early which is what we are planning - assuming 7am right now but hours aren't posted yet. The plan right now is to do Cars Land first and then probably head toward Soarin' because it is my DH's favorite. We'd like to stop and eat breakfast between Cars Land and Soarin'. I'm having trouble figuring out where we should do breakfast. We'll likely eat some granola or something before the park, but will be looking for something a little more substantial at this point. Suggestions?

There are only 2 quick services places in DCA for breakfast, Starbucks and Flo's. Ariel's Grotto has breakfast but that is a character meal and not in the direction you asked about.

They used to have breakfast items and Cozy Cone and Pacific Wharf Cafe, but those are gone.

There really aren't many options for breakfast in DCA, especially during EMH. I think the only options are Flo's V-8 Cafe and Cozy Cones (which are in Carsland, so they'll be on your route - Flo's has more options), Fiddler, Fifer, and Pratical Pig Cafe (aka Starbucks) (on BVS so you pass by there on your way to Soarin'), and Fairfax Fruit Market (a cart basically). I would go for either FLo's or Starbucks.

The back patio at Flo's looks out on the RSR ride, and it is a nice calm area to watch the ride and passers-by. I think their breakfast menu is better than Starbucks! To be sure there is something everyone will enjoy, make sure to check the menu online before you settle on it!

Have fun planning!

Flo's/Cozy cones or Starbucks (good breakfast sandwiches that are portable, strong coffee).

I highly recommend Flo's for breakfast. It's seldom crowded, since most guests are rushing to ride RSR.
The Brioche French Toast is very sweet, great for sharing.

Agree with this! Had breakfast there in January while watching RSRs go by. Loved it! Got the Brioche French Toast and a side of eggs. My husband had the tamale and liked it a lot!

I recommend Flo's too - we found it not to be busy at all and the seating outside near the ride is very relaxing.

Whitewater snacks just outside the GCH entrance from CA adventure has great breakfast options. From CA Adventure go into the Grand, hang a hard left right at the pool and it is right there. Keep your receipt if before 10am and you can reenter into CA adventure if they are checking for room keys.

We ate here for lunch as well - it's a great option as we found it to be very quiet and relaxing there as well.

Flo's left much to be desired. If possible, see if you can't hit the Starbucks on the way to Soarin'.

I don't think you're going to want to use your EMH to eat breakfast though so I would do Soarin' first then RSR or just stand in line for RSR fast passes if it's close to park opening. Then head into Cars Land and do additional rides or to Toy Story Mania and/or California Screamin' before park opening. Anyway do breakfast after your EMH ends.

Flo's and get the french toast! Their coffee is pretty blah though so if you need a caffeine jolt, go to Starbucks.

What about the coffee cart between Pacific Wharf and Paradise Pier? Are they not open for breakfast? They've got yummy specialty coffees and a small selection of delicious pastries.

Hmmm... I just checked out the menu for Flo's myself and it seems very small! How can DL have so many breakfast options and DCA so few!?

Flo's V-8 Cafe is great I have been there twice and suprisingly it was not that busy both times. Once on a weekend and another was on a weekday. I like to sit and eat. Their breakfast tamale is great. My son hates how crunchy the waffles are though.
