For our band trip to Disney,my band director is deciding whether to have breakfast at Chef Mickey's or not? I've never been there, what's it like?

In my opinion it is reasonable food but way overpriced. Go there if you want the characters. Maybe try somewhere like Boma if not

My whole family loves chef mickeys! We eat there once every time we go. We have only eaten dinner there, so I'm not entirely sure about the breakfast foods. No one in my family are really big breakfast eaters, so we always do dinners. But as far as the resturaunt goes, its a really fun place. It's really nice inside, and the characters walk around to every table to greet you and take pictures. The characters consist of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. We have also seen Chip and Dale there, but they were not there this past time we went. But to me, Chef Mickeys is a blast! :)

Not as good as last year. They switched to tater tots which were cold, hard and yucky. Much prefered the hashbrown that they had last year. No vanilla sauce either.

Wasn't horrible or anything just I noticed a few things and miss the old food.

I don't like to post negative, but this was not that great of a breakfast. It is very popular though.

Crouded, characters rushed through and the food was pretty sad.

Food choice - very tasty breakfast at Tusker House - excellent on our last trip! Tables are spread out better too for your group.

Edit - Was not Restaurantosaurus (used to be) - Tusker House Character Breakfast

The atmosphere is very loud, but can be fun. During a meal the characters take time out to dance and you are encouraged to swing your napkins and such. Kids seem to really enjoy the atmosphere and the character interaction, but it can be a bit much early in the morning ;) Also, in my experience the restaurant is always packed so you tend to wait past your ADR time and the restaurant can feel very crowded. On our most recent trip this past September we attended 5 different character breakfasts. I would say based on food alone Chef Mickey's was one of my least favorites. I just didn't feel they had a ton of hot food choices or a lot of variety. My 6 year old didn't find much to eat either, but yet he stilll wants to go back because he likes seeing all the characters and the atmosphere. You mentioned it was a band trip - are the children older? My 13 year old wasn't near as impressed since he didn't love the food and isn't really into the characters, so he would definitely prefer somewhere else.

Chef Mickey's breakfast is one of our favorites (we've eaten there the past 4 years). The breakfast buffet is standard breakfast fare, nothing special, but good nonetheless. We enjoy the fun, open atmosphere with occasional monorail passing by overhead. As a pp stated, the characters will dance around to upbeat music encouraging patrons to wave napkins over their heads. One of the benefits of CM is that it features the Fab 5: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald & Pluto. We've always had good character interaction at CM - we've never felt rushed.

We enjoy CM as well. I don't think it's overpriced compared to other buffets, as it's only $4 more than Boma. Boma is my absolute favorite, but CM is very good with a fun, vibrant atmosphere. And we really enjoy the food. You will get so many varying opinions on here I say go with your best feeling, not on the opinions of others.

breakfast is comparable to every other breakfast buffett at disney. Use the dining plan, because it is kinda pricey for what you get.

I have tried dinner twice and both times it was dirty, noisy and tasteless....oh, and expensive! I would never go back, but maybe the breakfast is edible...how badly can you mess up breakfast?
If you're going to MK you'd be better of at Crystal Palace (also a buffet) - if you're going to Animal Kingdom, you'd be MUCH better of at Tusker House - happens to be my favorite buffet!

The food is OK- some yummy, some good, some yuck! It is very $ for eggs. But you get to sit and eat and see Mickey and the gang:thumbsup2 So you have to decide on the value to you. For me, it was worth it to have my boys see Mickey and the gang up close, eat breakfast and to be able to get to the MK early to enjoy it!

We really enjoyed it. We thought the food was good for a breakfast buffet. We did go VERY early (7:10), so the food was fresh and it wasn't crowded at all.

It is definitely a fun experience!
