Is it worth the travel to get the Boma breakfast or am I just as well going to a chain restaurant on I drive. I'm staying near Seaworld so it's a bit of a trek but I don't mind if it's a different experience.
I love Boma but DW only eats chicken nuggets and chips there so she's putting her foot down this time. I may be able to talk her into sausage and egg:thumbsup2

Breakfast at Boma was a bit of a first day tradition for us for a few trips. It suited us to get there as it opened (7am), have breakfast and then get to a park for opening. As with most breakfast buffets, the highlights are the omelettes, because they're cooked to order and, therefore, the freshest thing available. They also do a nice piece of roast pork loin, together with "authentic" African dishes such as Bobotie and breakfast pizza. OK, maybe not so much with the breakfast pizza. :rotfl:

I think your DW would find enough things to more than fill up on, whilst allowing you to experiment a bit more. The Fru-unch (combination of juices) is lovely, too.

D'oh! Meant to add that I think it's a far nicer experience than a regular breakfast joint. Whether or not you've been to AKL before, it takes on a special ambience first thing in the morning (and again during the evening). Oh, and the "African" sausages they serve, are much more like our traditional sausages than the ones served at most American breakfast buffets.

We have had breakfast at Boma when we stay at AKL and when we don't. Good food, service and atmosphere. I also agree with UKDEB, the sausages are great!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy and say hi to the Giraffes for us.

Boma was the first ADR I booked when I found out what an 'ADR' was a couple of months ago.

Wood burning fires, comfy couches, coffee on the terrace overlooking the Savannah pre-breakfast. This really does sound like my idea of heaven :goodvibes

If I were to do a top 10 of my most eagerly awaited things on my 1st visit to the World, our Boma breakfast would be at or near the top of the list. In fact, the only thing vying with it for top spot is my dream of driving down a US highway in our soft-top. Hood down, the Eagles blaring from the CD and our shades on :cool2:

*on a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair* :hippie:

We like to visit Boma for breakfast on our first full day and have done so the last 3 times we have been.

They have a lovely choice of both hot and cold food ranging from freshly cooked omelettes to scrummy danish and fresh fruit etc.

I am sure that your DW will find something she would like. We would highly recommend Boma for breakfast, it's a great start to the day.
