Breakfast at BOG - $24 for a grilled cheese sandwich?!

You never know....I just scored a 8:15 a.m. ADR for Sept 7. I had no intentions of having breakfast at BOG, due to the prices, until I read this thread and found out that we don't have to order a full breakfast. We will either order one breakfast and split it with 2 drinks or we will both order off the kid's menu.
I'm trying to compare the cost of OOP with the DDP and I've got all but one QS meal accounted for so I was thinking breakfast at BOG would be a nice option. Knowing that I don't have to buy the whole breakfast can help me determine a more realistic price for comparison.

We have an 8am adr at BOG the last week in August, does anyone know when and how we go about pre-ordering? Thank you.

I believe on your MDE. When I look at my dining reservations, under the BOG reservation it says "Place your order starting Aug 9" (one month before) and it is in grey wording so I assume on Aug 9 it will maybe be a clickable link in order to place the order. Hopefully someone will chime in and tell us for sure :)

You are correct.

To confirm, not everyone has to order a meal but at least a drink each, and it's okay to share meals which will help keep costs down?

We have a PPO ADR for December and assuming they don't change the open time to 8:00am we are going to keep it and just get coffee for the adults and milk or water for the kids. I think for what you get at breakfast for the money it is definitely not worth it (and this is with my Disney price blinders on). I'd much rather spend the money on the food at lunch so we also have an 11:30 ADR that day too. To each their own though, of course. I really just want to experience a less busy Main Street and get a small jump on the rides as a bonus!

Thanks guys, I see that now in MDE. We can preorder August 2nd!

Even with the coffee and fruit, it seems a bit steep to me. Maybe I'm missing something, can someone explain why it's so expensive? Thanks.

One word....... Pixie Dust...

People will snort this stuff to no end and pay $24 for a donut with whip cream or $24 for Disney's version of an Egg McMuffin along with a couple of previously frozen Entenmanns quality pastries. And why? To be one of the first to race over to one of the most overhyped and average riding experiences at WDW,known as the 7DMT.

With early tours, BOG, CRT and Crystal palace all now having pre rope drop seating's, getting into the park early has lost a lot of it's magic. I say just be at the MK at rope drop, use a FP+ for 7DMT and experience the awesome décor and theming of BOG with a lunch ADR.

I think the breakfast situation at BOG is entirely out of hand. We ate there when we went because we were on the QSDP, but I'd never pay OOP for breakfast there. In fact, I have no desire to go back at all. The restaurant is cute, but it isn't THAT cute!
I think the people who use BOG as a strategy to get to 7DMT before the crowds could be partially to blame for the outrageous breakfast pricing. I've read about people making a reservation just to share a kid's entree, or get coffee and not even sit down in the place, or coffee and a cupcake, or heck, just blowing off the ADR altogether and paying the $10 no-show fee just so they can get to the blessed 7DMT before everyone else. I don't know how many people actually do that, but those that take up ADRs to spend very little money and/or just not show up, are preventing the place from filling those slots with full-paying customers.
BOG needs to decide if it's a TS or QS restaurant and behave accordingly. If it went total TS, they could do like CRT and you pay when you book and if not cancelled 24 hours ahead, you get no refund. That would cut out the no-show nonsense. If they want to remain a QS, then stop the ADRs and PPO, and let it be first come first served like any other QS place. If people don't want to wait in line for two hours to get overpriced QS food, they have other choices.

Meh, I don't see the attraction of 7DMT. I've ridden it twice now, which is once too many. For all the hype and all the time it took to build, it's really nothing special. I'll take Splash Mountain any day over 7DMT.

For one, it's incredibly short. I do like the theming inside the mountain, but if you blink you already missed it.

Plus, I find it to be one of the most uncomfortable rides in all of Disney World for someone who is 6'1" and 250lbs. So, I'm not overly large but man, I hurt when I got out of that thing. You'd think for a brand new ride, they'd try to accommodate larger folk.

Nope you don't have to order a full breakfast.
Some ppl just order fruit and coffee or a masters cupcake or another beverage.

A ressie will get you in the door and you can order whatever.

$24 is pricey...especially for the doughnut.
I can't believe someone would order the doughnut.
I always get the open faced sandwich because it has 2 eggs.
