Breakfast anyone?

OK, now that I got your attention! I own at BWV, but don't have anymore points to use this year so I'm renting from another and staying at SSR. From what I've read the Artist's Palette is mediocre at best. We are morning people and like to go out for breakfast, and since we are only renting a studio this year our cooking options are limited. Are any places open early in downtown disney? Granted when I stay at the BWV I'm happy just going to the bakery & getting a crumb cake with coffee, but that seems to me a little out of the way for this trip. Thanks

Pretty sure that their is a McDonald's at DTD .....pretty UNSURE as to weather that "QUALIFIES" as breakfast! LOL!

Why not check out Artist Palette first? I think I remember having some yummy french toast and sausage on a stay there in May. I also enjoyed the turkey and brie sandwich I had.

I can't remember what opens early in DTD. McDonald's is there.

Studio breakfast suggestions (don't know if you are looking for "big breakfast" items or other suggestions) ask for a toaster if you don't have one and toast english muffins and have them with peanut butter, yogurt and graham crackers is another option.

There is probably a web page somewhere with the artist palette menu posted on it.

If you have a car, head over to Olivia's at OKW. I don't think they run the boat very early in the AM, so you couldn't ride the boat. Or if you like a nice stroll, it's about a mile over to OKW from SSR. Maybe 15-25 minutes.

We stayed at SSR for two days before our recent cruise, and I thought their breakfasts were yummy! One day I even got the child's portion because it was enough for me! Give it a try, at least!

We liked the breakfasts at Artist's Palette too. They had a traditional egg/sausage/bacon/biscuit/homefries breakfast that was great (IMO) and they offered other options like french toast and omelettes. They also have a bakery area there that has muffins, coffecakes, stuff like that. Give it a shot, at least once.

Since you seem to be like me-like bakery sweets for breakfast, I can say that Artist's Pallette has an excellent carrot cake. You could get it the night before, put it in your refrigerator, then you have breakfast.

We staye at SSR for 6 days last month, and the Artist's was excellent. Giving everything at SSR, it was the best part of our stay there. We had breakfast on more than one occasion and lunch too. Everything, including the servers at Artist's, were great

Another vote for AP!!! Their food is great--only thing I didn't like was getting it on disposable plates... I'm one of those picky girls that hates paper plates and plastic cups, unless I'm on a picnic. If I'm staying inside, gimme a flippin' PLATE!!! But the food was MOST excellent.

I seem to remember a yummy breakfast flatbread/pizza at AP. It was very good. DD loved the Mickey waffles with sausage/bacon. We really liked the food there. I do think the menu is limited though. We are staying for 14 nights so we are bound to get tired of the choices. However, we will eat at the parks, DTD and other resorts a lot.

Earl of Sandwich at DTD has some nice hot breakfast sandwiches plus breakfast pastries, yogurt and granola etc.

Usually we have cut melon and bagels and cream cheese in the villa. This saves lots of time but I agree it is nice to have breakfast out.

AP is very good, we have had breakfast there several times, BUT, our absolute favorite place for breakfast is the Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom. The French Toast is soooo good!!! I have not noticed if the Rain Forest Cafe at DTD is open for breakfast, but you may want to check it out.

We had very good breakfasts at AP. Eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat and a biscuit for about $6. There are some bakery items and an assortments of cereals, juices, fruit and yogurt.

Try to go in with a positive attitude and you may be pleasantly surprised!

I agree that the RFC at AK has a great breakfast. I wonder if the one at DTD servers breakfast. If my waitlist does not come through I will be at SSR resort in less than a month. I guess I will find out.

Haven't done breakfast at AP, but we thought the lunch / dinner we had was some of the best counter service we have had at a resort.

We enjoyed the huge breakfasts we had at Artist Palette. Most mornings we were able to share a platter. Very good! Hope they haven't changed, as I've thought about stopping by on our next visit.

I think you`ll be pleasantly suprised at the quality of the food at AP. It`s not a sit down, (your going to be served) restaurant, you place your order from the menu overhead boards, and when your order is ready, you can eat in, or take it out.
We love ordering an egg white omlet with veggies there, (they make it to order). It`s sooo yummy !

The negative comments about AP to me is more about "what" they serve and less about the quality. The selections just do not appeal to some and that is fine, but to us it is the one of the best CS on property. Here is the breakfast menu.

This is one thing I love about SSR especially if you are staying in the CP area. Breakfast...if I feel like a change.......I walk over to the buses at the Marketplace and get on whatever bus is there or comes quickly and go for breakfast there. Resort hopping is so easy from SSR.

Maybe out of the way for your group? I don't know. It's fun for me. As in I wonder where I'm going today. Usually I cheer in my head if it's the Polynesian though b/c I love the service and the food at Kona Cafe.
