We had a Crystal Palace ADR for one of the mornings of our recent trip that we ended up canceling because our plans changed.

My question is, if we hadn't cancelled it, how would we have gotten to the MK by 8:05?

The boat doesn't run till 8:30, the boat to the Contemporary doesn't run till 8:00 and there is not a bus that early either.

Just thought it might help someone else with their planning.

We were there this weekend and had the same issue. We weren't as clever to get to WL for a bus! We ended up calling a taxi, he met us at the Outpost and took us to the bus drop off at MK. It cost ~$8 for 4 of us and it was about a 5 minute drive. It worked for us and we made our 8:20 ressie no problem!!

Well aren't you clever! I didn't know the WL bus ran that early.

Thanks for the info.

You are welcome!:goodvibes

We actually figured this out this past trip, much to our in desire to know about it!:sad2:

We were on the Orange route this trip and hope to NEVER be on it again. If you are on this route, you will go to the WL from the marina before you ever get back around to your site. It was soooo crazy and frustrating to ride around forever from the campground out of the campground and then back to finally get to the 1300 loop.:crazy2: When it is cold, this route to MK is the warmest, and when the boat isn't running it is the only way I know about, but it will take awhile to get there...depending on your luck and if the bus is waiting for you!:thumbsup2

Glad we were on the yellow route.

The crazy thing is that the Fort CMs were so helpful buy no one seemed to know how to get to the Crystal Palace at 8:05. It seems like it would be a common question. I thought a cab was our only option.

What would I need to do in order to get to Epcot for any early ADR? How much time should I plan on? Thanks for all the help. The transportation from the Fort seems to be confusing me the most. :confused3

Unless there is a weather issue, the boat to the Contemporary starts at 6:45 am.

To get to Epcot for an early ADR, just get to Outpost bus stop approximately 45 minutes before your reservation. The early buses to Epcot start at 7am.

That is a great idea.
We have a 7:20 on an early opeing morning and I was wondering how we were going to do it.
Do you remember what Taxi you used?

For an early morning opening where? If it's MK then the boats will start at least a 1/2 hour before that extra magic hour time.

We just returned from FW and had 2 8:05 breakfasts @ MK. We took the 6:45 boat to the contemporary and monorailed over to Mk.

Just a note on the Contemporary boat: the start time is listed as 6:45 but the first morning the first boat didn't come until 6:55 no problem mom & I were the only people who got on and we had plenty of time to make it to MK (we built in extra time just in case things didn't go as planned)

Our next time to take this boat we decided to get to the dock around 7:00 as we now knew we would have plenty of time even if we needed to wait longer for the boat BUT there were people waiting for the boat who were going to the Contemporary for Chef Mickeys for a 7:00 ressie and the 1st boat didn't arrive until 7:15! These people were ticked! And I don't blame them. Had the boat arrived at 6:45 or even just before 7:00 they could have made the ressie on time (it is a very quick ride to the Contemp. less then 5mins.)

The boat capt. was taking his time making small talk when one of the ticked people said they had a ressie at 7:00 and they had been waiting for the boat at 6:45 where had the boat been??? The captain looked real uncomfortable at that point and got us underway. He told them that CMickey should be able to get them in.

So just a heads up getting to MK for 8:05 is very doable even if the boat arrives a little after 7:00 but if you need to be at Chef Mickeys for 7:00 a taxi may be better to assure you get there on time.

Why not just take a bus instead of paying for a taxi?:confused3 Also, if you have a vehicle, your FW resort parking pass works at all theme parks and at the TTC.

I was wondering about this scenario too. We will have a vehicle there. We are better off just driving to the resort of our ADR? We don't have to pay parking at a resort other than our own?

A friend went last Sept and had an 8pm ADR at some resort that they monorailed to. They didn't get out of the dinner until 9:30. The monorail was then not running so they had to take a bus, but the bus had to go to DTD so it took them 3 HOURS to get back to ASMu. Yes, they rode a bus around for 3 HOURS!!! They didn't get their 2 little kids to bed until 12:30am.:crazy2: She told me to look into just using our car.

When we had an early segway tour at Epcot (8am) we arrived at the outpost bus stop just before 7am. We waited for 30 mins and no bus came for Epcot. We walked over to the Outpost and told them our problem. We were told that we should have let them know ahead of time ---they only provide early transportation when requested! Within minutes a white van was there and delivered us to epcot.

That is great information to have. . .thanks!

Going Resort-to-park or to-DtD is a snap, but resort-to-resort is often quite a process using Disney transportation. For Fort Wilderness, getting to Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary is quick and easy by boat. Going to the other monorail resorts is not too bad via boat and monorail. Getting to Swan/Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach is doable by MGM bus and boat/walk. Getting to almost any other resort is pretty grueling, requiring a bus trip to DtD and another to the destination resort. Depending on time of day it could easily take over an hour.

Frankly, I can't quite imagine the problems your friends had. On our last trip we had a 9:30pm seating for Citricos (Grand Floridian) and were there until nearly 11pm and still did the monorail to MK and launch to FW without a hitch. If the monorail is shut down I would have almost certainly taken a cab. But, and this is a good tip, when you get to the valet stand ask them how you should get back to your resort since the monorail is shut down, they may arrange a van to drive you straight to your destination. If they suggest the bus-DtD-bus route, ask for a cab. We have had Disney do private shuttling late at night for us with launches, vans and even full-sized buses! Ask, they can't hit ya! LOL

Shannon- Why go all the way to DTD? You can take the boat to the MK, and it is a very short walk to the MK buses that will take you right to any resort that you would like to visit. In my experience, the transportation to the nicer resorts, for example AKL, is quite efficient.

TCD, that certainly works, and the boat is more scenic than the bus, but I'm not sure it's any faster... especially if it is at a time when crowds are leaving MK (i.e. after the 3pm parade, or closing). Not to mention concerns about MK operating hours, and how that affects bus schedules. The DtD option is reliable even late into the night.

Agreed. The DTD option also eliminates the walking that would be involved. But, travelling to any of the parks, and transferring to a resort bus there is an alternative that folks should keep in mind should they wish to avoid the longer trip to DTD. This is the option that we always choose, rather than the DTD bus. Allegedly, transportation is available at all of the theme parks until an hour after the last one closes (even on EMH nights), but I would not want to test that late at night.
