We're four college kids and two of us are first timers. I personally love characters and I think my sister will too, but the other two people in our group could care less.

What exactly happens at a character dining restaurant? Does it kind of ruin the excitement if you see the character walking around for 20 minutes before they get to you? Does each character definitely stop by your table? Would it be better to have the first character interaction of the trip (for someone who's never been) be at a character dining experience or in the parks?

Which character dining options have the funnest characters but still with food for picky eaters? We'll have free dining so cost isn't really a problem, we just want the best experience we can get while we're able to eat at TS restaurants!

Thanks!

If your diners are really picky, do a breakfast. Most breakfast food is standard American breakfast food.

I think the most entertaining character meal I've been to is at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. We did dinner there with Cinderella, her stepmother & stepsisters, and Prince Charming. VERY funny!

I you're looking for Mickey & Co. I think Chef Mickey's is always a good bet.

Both are buffets with pretty good food so that should satisfy those needs.

I really like Crystal Palace. Both breakfast and lunch are really good there.

Chef Mickey's for dinner is good, and I love the breakfast at Tusker House, if you want to see Mickey and those characters.

They do come to your table and several times. You can high five, hug, shake hands, kiss (the head piece), and take loads of pictures. It is alot of fun and yes breakfast is the best bet.

Do this insted of trying to meet them in the parks. In the parks there is only one character and load of people standing in line and it can take more than an hour to get to them then they hurry you away for the next person. The Character TS meals is the best bet because you are enjoying your friends and having a great (sometimes) meal and are entertained while you wait to see them.
