So my Oster bread machine broke, it was only a year old. It did an OK job, but I would not buy one again. I am thinking about getting a Breadman Bread Machine. So if any of you have a Breadman how do you like it? TIA

Well - along with my other Amish research, I've come across a few recipes for Amish homemade bread (the kind that I'll actually have to use yeast in - like my Dad did when I was a kid) and if I can get up the nerve, I'm going to try to make a loaf - the good old-fashioned way..;)

My Dad's bread was terrific - and his Italian bread was to die for! Yum!!!!!!

The only concern I have is with my hands - if I'll have the strength to keep kneading the dough - but - more than likely, I'll do it when my DGD is around so she can help me with it..:lovestruc

I don't have a clue when it comes to bread machines.. DD bought one for her IL's a few years ago (they said they wanted one).. They used it for a week and that was the end of that.. From what I understand, the bread turned out really good - it was just too much "work" for them..:confused3

I bought a Breadman Pro from Amazon.com in July. I wanted to start making my own gluten-free bread and did some research before I bought it. It has a gluten-free setting. I make regular bread in it as well for DH. I love it. Throw everything in, set the settings, and let it do its thing.

I've gotten several bread mixes as well and enjoy making those too, especially the 9-grain and the cheese herb from Hodgson Mills.
