We saw the touring production of the Lion King yesterday... :Pinkbounc ...knock-my-socks-off as good as when we saw it when it premiered in Minneapolis, MN...so glad we could afford it again!

But I couldn't beleive how sad and homesick :sad1: it made me for WDW!!!! It made me want to be on an attraction and then walk out into MK or EPCOT!!! I was surprised at how it made me react! What a Dis-nut I am!

Anyone else get to see this??? Anyone else get homesick for WDW when they watch something Disney???

I saw it several years ago in Toronto, but wasn't so much of a Disney nut then. It is a fantastic show!! I'd love it if they came around here again soon.

I can't wait to see this at the end of June! I knew it would make me homesick, so I planned my trip for July...

We just saw this (for the 2nd time -- love it) on Broadway on Saturday. It is such an amazing show -- I have the CD playing right now.
It made me even more anxious for our trip in 12 days!!! :teeth:

We saw it years ago on B'way when it first opened, at the gorgeously restored New Amsterdam Theater. (Forgive me: but God bless Michael Eisner for undertaking that great project, and having it so beautifully realized!)

From the first moments of "Circle of Life," it had me in tears. Just stunning. Talk about MAGIC! The familiar music and characters came alive in new and astonishing ways, and I left the theater (pardon the pun) soarin' :)

I'm so excited - I just found out yesterday that it's coming to Birmingham in September! Tickets go on sale this Saturday and I have a question. Of course, I'd like to be front and center, but those tickets are $125 and DH is not thrilled about paying that much for a "show". Can you enjoy it just as much a little farther back, or does it not really matter where you are? Thanks!

If you can be anywhere in the orchestra, or in the first balcony, you'll have a very good view.

I can't vouch for the touring production, but the Bway version is a real spectacle, and actors move in and through the audience several times.

You won't regret spending the extra bucks, if you can swing it!

The first time we saw it we were in the cheapest seats in the back and it was still amazing. Yes, animals and people move through the aisles on the main floor, but you still get to see them on stage no matter where you sit. We paid $84 total (including about $10 in taxes and facility fees) for main floor seats this time and we were in the middle of the MF. It was awesome, but I knew this production would be so that's why we splurged this time.

If you can afford even the cheaper seats, it will be money well spent and a fantastic show! And if you have kids 5+, it is a must see for them!

We saw this on Saturday! We loved it & like you it really made us homesick for WDW!!!!!

We took my 5 yr old & he enjoyed it too.

Thanks for the info...it sounds awesome! It will be me and DH and our 3 teens - 19, 16 & 14, plus DS's girlfriend, also 19. We've seen Cirque (La Nouba) and Riverdance (in Ireland) and loved them both, so I know we'll love this one too! I'm definitely going to try for the main floor/orchestra level.

We went to Lion King on 4/17 and I also was a little disappointed that we exited the theatre onto Hennepin Ave. rather than into Camp MinnieMickey!

At least, unlike yesterday, there were no snowflakes in the air when we left the theatre a couple weeks ago!
