brazilian tourists

i have read about large groups of brazilian tourists at disney in the summer.
are they very big groups and are they a pain.
has anyone had any problems with them.

We had big problems at Xmas, I believe the majority were from Peru but not 100% sure. At parade times they would arrive last minute send 1 or 2 little childen to the front then the rest of the family say "get to children" and push thru, well try, the had not a hope with me. It was not a one off, it was every parade, line for rides, getting on monorail, wherever they could push in they would. They try make out they dont understand English but they understood me OK
Thankfully did not have many problems either Easter or August but only parade we watched was Pirates and Princess night when it was really quiet.

I remember very well all the Brazilian tourists, but never had any problems with any of them. There seemed to be loads of them though !!

We always seem to see them in October - must be their vacation then.
Seem a happy bunch to me !!

Had dealings with a large group of 'out of control' brazilian teenagers many years ago at a hotel.
Running up and down the corrider at 2am in the morning, shouting, screaming etc
The English approach to this problem after a few pointless calls to reception, was a cold bucket of water.

Problem solved.

To be honest there is a rudeness and arrogance about them, and they don't appear to be very well supervised.

Very true. I haven't seen them in large groups for a few years. I've always fantasized about grabbing the flag from the leader and running all though the park with it having the whole group following me.

My first run-in was at a SpectroMagic parade in 2005. As usual, it was a married couple about 45 -50 years of age. I was near to Main Street station, and the man, scuttled almost on hands and knees along the front of people sitting on the kerb and had the mis-fortune of stopping in front of me.
As the parade started, he just stood up and blocked our view (after we had be waiting for 20+ minutes) I tapped him on the shoulder and asked him to move, but I don't think he understood my Midland accent
He wasn't bother about spoiling my view, so I made sure he didn't see much either . I tapped him on the shoulder and when he turned around, I fired a £250 flashgun - on full power - into his face . I reckon he had something similar to welders flash - because after 2 minutes of rubbing his eyes, he got the message and left.

in july there is a very large influx of brazilian teenage groups...
there is a tradition in brazil (no one has ever been able to explain to me how it got started) that when kids turn 15, they go on an organized trip to WDW...

given that these 15 year olds are traveling with only a few escorts, it's amazing that there aren't more problems than there are...

in our experience, they're relatively well behaved (though perhaps loud)...

If by summer you mean July/Aug then keep things in perspective.
The crowds are large anyway.

They do seem to have a tactic of putting a few people into the lines and trying to join them but I simply refuse to let them past.
A bit of finger pointing that the minority can come and join them instead normally works.

They are not a major issue as far as I'm concerned.

I went last Xmas and this August and didnt have any problems with Brazilian tour groups, I was obviously lucky! The only problem we did have was on our last night when there were some Brazilian teenagers stayng next to us and they were up till gone 2am shouting, screaming, laughing etc. We rang reception twice who did nothing so in the end we banged on the door and told them to shut up!

I think they have a different queueing culture to us - ie. they ignore it!

Somebody on another forum tried to explain their bad behaviour. In Brazil the general level of incomes is lower than the many western countries. Therefore a holiday to Florida is not the 'norm' that it is here, with only those on higher incomes able to afford it.

Because of this those kids/youngsters (and adults) that can afford to travel to WDW believe they are special and deserve special treatment.

Bit of a generalisation but there might be something in it!
