Brazilian Keratin Treatment..

Ok, had this done last night. Please someone tell me it gets better. The girl told me I wouldn't like it for about a week because it's too flat. She assured me it gets better. Has anyone here had it? I'm kind of freaking out but there's nothing I can do so I hope I will like it after I wash it. Can't wash it until Friday

Once you wash it out your hair will soften and get silky. You just have to wait the week then wash it out. My mom does it all the time.

I had the Global keratin last month...it does get better! I love, love, love my hair now. No more worries about frizzy hair! hang in there!

Yes, better....I promise. I have super thick hair, and when I saw it so flat I freaked! But it's only until the first wash. After that, the biggest thing I noticed was how much it cut down on my drying time!

I am having this treatment done tomorrow. I am excited and scared at the same time. I cant wait to go to WDW next month and not have a curl and frizz!

Tell me though, I know I wont be able to wash my hair for 3 days and if you get it wet you have to dry and flatten it right away. Does this mean I should avoid working out so I dont sweat alot?

I think so. She told me to dry it immediately if it got wet at all or even if I sweated in my sleep. I slept fine but there was a little ridge like kink in it this morning that I flat ironed out. It is sooooooooooooooooooooooo flat. I can't wait to wash it to see what happens. I hope I look decent for my Hurricane Party on Friday BTW, she used apple scented on me and it smells good!

I'm afraid of the hurricane on Friday. I'm going to have to cover my hair to go to work so it doesnt get wet and I guess bring my blow dryer and flat iron, just in case.

how weird! I was just reading an article about this and how much I would love to have it done! I blowdry and flatiron my hair and would love to not have to do that all the time. especially now with my little one. takes too much time!!! I'll have to look in to who does it here in my area.

I'd love to hear more about it also. I had the Japanese Thermal Reconditioning done back in 2004 and 2005 but that was around $500 back then so I couldn't continue that. Of course it also lasted over 10 months each time so the time it saved me in the mornings was immeasurable. That process also took over 6 hours in the salon, and SMELLED nasty (like those old perms)

Can anyone tell us more about it? Price range, how long it takes in the salon, how long you can expect it to last? I'd love to see before and after hair pictures if anyone could share

I want to get this done. But my sis who has hair like mine, long and giant and frizzy/curly pays 400. to get hers done. I'm trying to work up the nerve to spend it. It will save me in the long run in time and tons of expensive conditioner and product.

ok, I just had the treatment done this afternoon and I love it! It cost me $200 and I think she undercharged me a little. I have been going to the salon for about 17 years and I am only one of a few people who had the treatment done since they just started doing them. My hair smells like apples too and its soooooo soft. The entire process took about 3 hours. My hair is about an inch below my shoulders.

I'm in a panic about getting it wet, they told me not to put it in a shower cap even... how do you shower???? no clips, cant put it up, no cap!!! I guess this equals sponge bath. great!

I'll update again on Sunday after I wash it. Looks like this will be the first time in Florida with no frizz!

I'm so glad you like it. I am dying to wash mine...it is so greasy looking, ughh. I confess that I took a quick shower this morning. I put it in a shower cap and was really careful not to get it wet. When I got out I went over a couple of spots with the flat iron.

I'll explain the process that my girl used for those of you thinking of it. I also got highlights and my roots done at the same time. They can color your hair before the process but you have to wait 2 weeks after to color. She did the color, then washed my hair. I can't remember if she blowdryed my hair after washing it but she then put the product on section by section. It sat on my head for about 20 minutes. Then she blowdryed it and then flat-ironed it section by section. I was there for a total of just under 4 hours but it was my friends house so it was fine. I was told to not wash for at least 48 hours whcih would be around midnight tonight so I'll wait until tomorrow morning. No ponytails, no clips, no holding your hair back with glasses. It cannot get wet and if it does you must dry it immediately. I flat-ironed out a few little ridges from sleeping on it funny. I will update when I wash it

Oh and you have to use sulfate free shampoo. I bought special shampoo and conditioner at the beauty supply store. $18 a bottle I think I'll check out Sally beauty online and find a generic for when these run out.

Wow, this is much different than the Brazilian BlowOut I had done in June. There's no 3 days wait period for washing your hair or any strange rules other than using Sulfate-free hair products.

The process is you get your hair shampooed like 3 times, then they apply the solution, then your hair is blown dry, then flat ironed, then rinsed off. The results are amazing. My hair felt silky soft from the get-go. I could wash it as soon as I wanted to. My hair is about 2 inches from my waist, so it really shorted up my drying time and I didn't even have to use my flat iron. Amazing!

The big test was WDW in July and my hair was perfection. It was a frizz-free vacation!
