People do this in subway here. I just doesn't understand where is the brilliant idea in doing that, because when you are in a crowded place, like a subway or a park almost full of people, the last thing you want is let your stuff unattended behind you. :sad2:

It's a pity that some people with nothing inside their heads, instead of give a good image from Brazil, even for other people have interest in visit Brazil, behave in a manner that let people with fear to meet Brazilians in parks.

If you look around the disboards, it's not just the Brazilian teens that people try to avoid, it is also the American cheerleaders and marching bands. Again, any very large group of teens with a few adults is going to be pretty loud and take up a lot of space, even if they are well behaved. And with large groups of teens (I have 3), you're not always going to get the well-behaved part, even when they know better and will end up being fine adults in just a few more years (of maybe a decade. :lmao:)

Loved the viscous joke! So clever.

Teens causes problems since ever, it really is a fact :lmao:

I absolutely agree...it's not specific to just the Brazilian teens.
Any group of teens, from anywhere, can become a PITA.
Teens are more likely to exhibit poor behavior because their brains (Frontal lobe in particular) aren't developed enough to make rational decisions.
A good article on the subject; http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=124119468
Of course when I was an early teen the cure for rude behavior caused by an undeveloped Frontal Lobe, was a smack to the head.
It probably slammed the Frontal Lobes together completing the logic circuit because I never repeated the behavior that caused the initial smack down. :headache:

Okay, trying to get back to the subject of the thread....

I, too, am curious if the groups will find a way to prebook FP+.

I am a group tour guide for high school bands and choirs, and we are in the process of developing a system to allow our clients to prebook.

The way we have always done our trips is for the tour director to have all the passes when he or she meets the group wherever they are located, before departing for Orlando. We have each pass labeled by name, and we have a list of names with the numbers from the back of the passes. This is to enable us to replace any lost passes throughout the trip. (Yes, we tell them to take a picture of the back of the pass, but the ones who tend to lose their passes are also the ones who tend not to follow the direction to take a picture...)

So we have the numbers that would enable a group to connect their passes to MDE and make advance FP+, at least several weeks before the trip. Our plan is to distribute the pass numbers to the group whenever we receive them from the company from whom we purchase the tickets. That way, anyone who would like to can connect a pass to MDE and make FP+ reservations before arriving.

I suppose BTGs could do the same thing. As a PP suggested, the tour companies could do it for them, but that would be very time-consuming and complicated, especially if anyone wanted to change anything. Would they all have the same MDE account?

Interesting suggestion that July may not be all that busy this year because of the World Cup. And I would ask gabrielacsarti -- why do they wrap their luggage in plastic wrap??

It will be interesting to hear how things go this summer. I am going with another group in June, so I am excited to see how the preplanning works for them.

I hate when the tour groups are viscous! It's much better when they're more fluid and "go with the flow." ;)

Best post ever!

This place wouldn't be the same without you Bob! :cool1:

When we were there in January, there were a few tour groups in Epcot that jumped into the single rider line @ Test Track... took the wait time to 180 minutes - I think it ended up being almost as long as the Standby line (we had FP+... luckily we weren't in the multi-hour line. We would have left and returned first).

Folks please remember that no nationality has the monopoly on rude/bad behaviour. Therefore please be respectful of others and donot castigate whole nations on the actions of a few :)

People wrap their luggage because everyone knows that Brazilians go shopping a lot in USA and have valuable things in your bags... So it's not uncommon to have the bag opened in the departure airport or stopover airport and have your things stolen. If you wrap your luggage and it's unwrapped when you catch then again, someone has opened it. And you have to discover who, if is TSA or if it is a thief :(

If you have been watching the news in the U.S., you will find out that the TSA might be the thief. :rolleyes2

And you should see my DD17 roll her eyes at me when ever I remind her of her undeveloped Frontal Lobe!! :rotfl2:
Hers makes her extremely materialistic and suseptable to every commercial on TV and in magazines.

Thank you for the best laugh of the day! :goodvibes

As a Brazilian who has never travelled with tour groups I hope BTG think making FP+ is such a hassle that they just forget about it and decide to wing it and use the standby line. Sorry if it sounds cruel, but it's the truth. Can you imagine how many FP+ slots they are going to take?

And I hope WDW train their CMs to stand their ground and not let whole groups of 15-30 teens enter via the FP+ line when only one of their MBs goes turns blue and the last turn red.

WOW!!!

I just want to say how shocked I am how racist this thread is. I'm not Brazilian. I'm American. And I am ashamed by some of these posts.

My God! Do you guys realize what you are saying?! Just replace the word "Brazilian" with "Blacks" or "Hispanics" or "Jews" to get a sense how racist these posts are.

I'm literally shocked that this thread was not shut down by a moderator.

Which I'm sure is your goal since you've played the "Race Card". :sad2:
My Family is comprised of Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans, and Whites and I've NEVER heard a single one of them use the stupid term "Racist".

Just pointing out that most on this thread have been quick to point out that their use of "Brazilian Tour Group" is because of the large tour groups from Brazil. They are equal opportunity haters of "Cheerleading Tour Groups", "Pop Warner Tour Groups", "Marching Band/Chorus Tour Groups", and any other group that travels in large numbers and interrupts their touring plans. If a large group of Franciscan Monks visited the parks, you can bet we'd hear complaints about the Monks. ;)

Add to the fact that, as has been explained, most find traveling with their own teens to be (barely) tolerable, but they have no desire to spend a lot of time around groups of 20-80 highly unsupervised teens in a foreign country. I'm sure the Canadians were cursing myself and the parents of all the kids who went on the trips to Canada to study the architecture and cathedrals... and I can assure you that ds and his friends are the model of decorum and respectability when in the presence of adults who would not hesitate to stool them out... in a foreign country? Although I would like to think differently, probably not so much at certain times.

"Brazilian" is not a race. Neither is "American".

And it's against the large groups of people from that country, generally with much adult supervision, generally young themselves, that threads like this discuss. Large groups often behave differently than individuals. And large groups acing disruptively tend to alter the experiences of others around them in the parks.

Getting back on topic here:

Large groups are encouraged to book FP+ day of at a kiosk in groups of 10 or less.

Let's think about how the system works for a moment. Previously the tour guide would walk up to the machine and insert 60 tickets. When one return window ran out it would simply print the next so the tour guide had some FP for 4:00, some for 4:05, some for 4:10 etc etc.

Now if they went to a kiosk (or even IF they tried to book on MDE) for all 60 people together who is to say that the attraction even has 60 FP available in each hour window. I have no idea on the actual number but lets say Dumbo only allows 45 FP for each time slot total, so 45 at 4pm, 45 at 4:05 and so on and so on. They might not be able to book ANY rides, and its not like before where it would just jump to the next window. If the tour guide got 20 FP in one time the next time he might get the other 20 could be several hours apart.

That is why they are encouraged to book in smaller groups. So this may mean that they do not use FP at all or it may mean that instead of 60 people all doing the same thing you have smaller groups now throughout the park. (sort of sounds like a win-win for everyone but the group I suppose)
