My DD8 loves the Bratz dolls and has a small collection of them, about 15 or so. Now my younger DD's age 5, are starting to ask for them. I actually think they are kinda cute. Anyone else's DD like them? They sell like crazy so someone's out there buying them!

My granddaughter just turned 7 and so far her parents haven't allowed her to have them..

I live with my DD, her DH and my granddaughter part-time and I tend to keep me nose out of their decisions regarding her.. It would be VERY cold if I had to stay up here in the mountains for the winter.. :earseek: ;)

Hate 'em. Can't quite put my finger on why I don't like them--they just don't seem right. :rotfl: I've kept my opinions to myself though, but my girls don't like them either. One's a Barbie nut, while the other is obssessed with the Princesses, so it's been a moot point for us. But like the OP said, obviously someone likes them, because they are selling! :confused3

Hate them, evil evil little things.

Give me a Disney princess any day. (and thank God my almost 5 year old DD feels the same way.) :goodvibes

Personally I am not big into barbies for her age, but they are better then Bratz. I make it my misson as a mother to raise my child not to be a brat, I am sure as heck not buying her a toy with that name on it. :teeth:

I hate them, but that's only because I think they're really ugly. I've collected Barbies for years and dd loves Barbies. In fact, I have to keep her away from mine! How do you explain Mint In Box to a 4 year old??? :confused3

Hate 'em. Wouldn't allow DD13 to have them when she was younger and wanted one. DD10 has never been interested. There's just something so unappealing about the whole idea/package.

I do not allow my daughter to have them...she will tell you flat out that her mommy doesn't let her play with them since they look like little streetwalkers (she has no clue what a streetwalker is but has heard me say it!)....I htink they are a terrible example for little girls, I certainly don't want my little girl thinking that the way they dress is right or proper for little girls!

I thought I was the only one who didn't like them! My kids don't like them either. Youngest one has always loved Barbies, Polly's , American Girls, all of that, but not the Bratz. Never bought one, never plan to.

I think bratz dolls are ugly! I was in k mart last weekend and they couldn't give them away for $2.50!

My DD is 12 now and has been playing with Bratz for a few years. She has about 15 also, not counting the car and the salon. She also had about 80 Barbies, some of those were her older sisters'.

I see nothing wrong with them, even Barbie tried to copy them with their My Scene dolls. It took me along time to get used to them without thier shoes on :rotfl:

We also went through the Princesses dolls and still have some of them.

Hate' em! I have boys but I do have two neices...and I refuse to buy them these...things!

Whatever happened to glamour gals? Now those were some cute dolls. :)

:rotfl: The do look like that, your right! I call them stripper dolls. :goodvibes

I have to admit I hated them too until DD got her first one as a gift. I guess they grew on me. She unfortunately just never got that into the princesses. So sad because I love them!! She was huge into the Barbies. Now she has a mix of both.

I gotta say though, sometimes Miss Barbie's skirts are just as short as the Bratz's are!

What about the new My Scene Barbies? Those are sort of a cross between the two I think....

I think they're creepy. First of all, they look like little 10-year-old hussies. There are a lot more positive and healthy images out there for little girls.

Secondly, I HATE the name. Bratz. Uh...when I was a kid, being a BRAT was a bad thing! What happened?

I don't have a daugher yet but I don't think I'd let my kid play with them.

Well I have to admit I don't like the my sene dolls either. DD isn't allowd to have them (but she doesn't know that yet, I will lay down that law when she actually asks for them)

I do let her have the Disney Pricess barbie dolls, but would rather she have the polly pocket kinds and such. She likes to take the cothes of her dolls and leaves them around the house, or she wants me to dress them for her. I say no barbies until you can dress them yourself (and no bratz no mater what.) If I wouldn't let her dress that way, I won't let her have a doll with it. It is a good as aproving of it.

My DD is a bit younger, I figure she has years ahead of her for Barbie, I am holding off as long as I can. ;)

I don't like them either! My DD is 7yo and she has one that someone gave her for a birthday gift. She likes them but knows that I do not care for them because of the way they look. She so desperately wants me to like them but I told her that we will not always like the same things :earboy2: . I will not spend my own money on a Bratz doll and she has not let go of any of her money either to purchase one. She prefers to spend her money on Polly Pocket stuff that often gets sucked up in the vacuum cleaner! I hate that the toymakers have made dolls like the Bratz for the younger age groups that are dressed so inappropriately with makeup. Just my opinion! :flower:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Oh man! That is too funny!! That is why I don't allow DD to have them either. WHY do we want our girls to admire these things that look like hookers? DD doesn't know that is specifically what I think, but she does agree that they are ugly and doesn't like them anyway. Dniece got one for a gift from someone--she was three at the time BTW--and DSIL freaked because it had thong underwear on. What is up with that??? She threw it out and good riddance.

For the record, if you can't tell, I hate them. THough they are not quite as bad as that other brand that was out a couple of years ago.

I really can't stand those Bratz dolls - they look like trashy hooker hoes. I have outlawed them in our home. I am reasonable with almost any other thing DD asks for, but will not bend on this one.

My DD6 expressed interest in them for the first time today. I have always said that I would never get my daughter anything with the name "brat" in them. She has barbies but doesn't play with them too much. I may decide if she wants them she can spend her money she gets from her allowance and Christmas to buy them...maybe.

I can't stand Bratz either- totally trashy!

A new doll by Mattel that looks like it might be cute though is Teen Trends - these are bigger then Barbies and Bratz - they look more like a teen and their clothes are pretty cool without looking trashy. DD wants the Courtney doll for Xmas.
