bras for cars

ok or tacky.
I have a 96 mustanggt that has alot of pits on the front bumper.Now it's starting to get them on the hood. There's alot of road construction and alot of trucks kicking up stones. I can't afford a paintjob and it would just get ruined in the same spots again. The car is silver and the bra would be black. Any thoughts?

I've always thought they're tacky, but then again, I'm not really into cars... especially not putting anything extra on them (bras, spoilers, rims, purple lights, etc.)
