We are not doing Disney this year...going to Branson...I priceline for the hotel..got one close to the Branson Lnding. We will be there for a week, me DH and DD19. Never been there. I need suggestions of what to do?

Are you boaters or ever been on a jet ski? You can go out on TableRock Lake. :thumbsup2

You do need to get a "boater's license" which is a safety course and is always helpful anyway if you are newbies. I know for sure the 19yo needs one. This needs to be done in advance of your trip, fyi.

My suggestion is to boat during the week and not on the weekend if you want to try that out.

Then you have the main attractions, like Silver Dollar City and all the shows.

At the very least do "Ride The Ducks" and get out on the lake.

I agree with renting a boat and going tubing, or jet skiing on Table Rock Lake. We stayed at Big Cedar and they have a marina there, but I think the State Park marina was cheaper.

We did almost all inside activities while there, it was 100+ the week we were there. One thing I will suggest, is pick all day, one destination things to do on the weekend so you don't have to drive around Branson during the weekend. The traffic is crazy and it takes you a long time to get from one side of town to the other. Weekday traffic was much better.

My kids are younger, but we did the Titanic Museum, Butterfly House, the Ducks, a Chinese Acrobat Show, Dixie Stampede and we walked around Branson Landing.

There's always Silver Dollar City. A very nice theme park that is very different from WDW. Visit their website to see what special events they have going on while you're there. They also own a river boat that does dinner and lunch cruises around Table Rock Lake. There are of course all of the shows. One that I think would be interesting is the Kirby Burch Magic Show, he has a web site as well. We always stay at the Promenade Hilton. Very nice. The Landing area has lots of new shops and restaurants as well as a small Bass Pro Shop. The "historic" downtown has lots of fun cute shops. Be sear to visit Dick's 5 & 10. What a hoot! If it's not in Dick's, it's probably not made. There's a nice scenic train ride that departs from a station right down there by the landing, the Branson Scenic RR. They do scenic things, dinner things etc. Again, check out their website. 76 is "the strip" and generally always crowded. Most of the shows, shops and restaurants are here. Have patience. You'll find lots of info. on Branson's website. Lots of times you can get package deals on show tickets, Silver dollar City tickets etc. There's also the Shephard of the Hills, again they have a website. Have fun!
