Branson MO?

I lived in Springfield and still have family there. I think the cave referenced is Fantastic Caverns, and is a little north of Springfield while Branson is South, so keep that in mind.

Lamberts is great..my kids insist we go there when we visit...but plan to wait to eat, and there's something funny about payment. I think maybe they don't take credit cards?:confused3

And there are a lot of campgrounds in the area. I haven't camped in years, but we used to go to places on Lake Tablerock which is right along Branson's edge.

I agree with those who like Silver Dollar City. I never did the Ripleys. The entertainers change so much it is hard to keep up, so I wouldn't begin to give advice there.

Have fun!

We didn't care for Ripley's . We liked the Hollywood Wax museum better. We love Silver Dollar City and usually hit the water park. If your kids like haunted houses and dinosours check those places out.

We went to Branson for the first time as a family last summer. We have always avoided Branson because we are not into country music. We decided to give it a try because we needed an affordable weekend getaway. We went to Silver Dollar City, the Titanic, and Ripley's.

We really enjoyed SDC and the Titanic, but I thought Ripley's was expensive for what it was. Our family liked the tour set up for the Titanic. You are given a passport at the beginning of the tour with the name and information of someone who was actually on the ship. I think my kids learned more because of it. They were both very interested to know if their person lived or died, and what life was like on the ship for their person. My DH was the richest man on the ship, John Aster. We paid extra and did the audio tour also, which I thought was worth the money.

I lurked on the message boards at www.1branson.com for information on discounts and reviews. I got a pretty good discount for SDC because of a tip on there.

We were there last summer and saw a couple of good shows. Both were fine for the whole family. The one we really loved was called SIX. It was 6 brothers who were incredibly talented singers. I liked it because it wasn't country music (I am not a country music fan). We also saw Yakov Smirnoff, and he was fairly funny. Not rolling on the floor laughing funny, but he had some amusing jokes.

My kids were 18, 15 and 12, and they liked Silver Dollar City and the water park and that is about it. There really isn't too much else for teenagers there.

I have to shake my head because you are missing Tablerock Lake.

Go boating, rent jet ski's. It is a teenager paradise.:thumbsup2

Granted we have our own but Tablerock is a wonderful lake that is often overlooked.

I personally love Branson's Ripley's but I love all Ripley's, which is good because if you have seen one you have seen them all.

I did not like the Titanic. I found it very depressing because it really glamorizes the story of the Titanic. It also focuses on all the people who died (unnecessarily). Very depressing. Plus all the props aren't from the actual Titanic, they are just replicas. And the worst was posing near an iceberg for a souviner photo. Afterwards I just felt sick like I had been disrespectful to all the people who died in the tragedy. Just my opinion. History is important but I think the exhibit pushes the envelope on the difference of trying to teach and captalizing on a tragedy.

We were just at the Branson Titanic museum 3 weeks ago. I wasn't expecting much but we really loved it. I didn't feel any of it was disrespectful. I am pretty sure that they had more than just props and had authentic pieces from Titanic. It also told stories of actual passengers which made it more "real" to us.

Just my opinion but I was very impressed with the museum.
