We always take a summer trip and this year we don't have enough to drive more than 10-12 hours away. Just wondering if anyone's been to Branson, Missouri in the summer (July). I'm concerned that it would be way too hot and humid...... we get enough of that in Minnesota.

Sounds like a fun place though..... any thoughts would be appreciated!

It will be worse than Minnesota, but the mountains (hills) are beautiful and the lakes are fantastic. Personally, I'd look for a place (cabin or resort) on one of the lakes just a few minutes away.

Branson has plenty to do, and althought I thought I wouldn't like it, I had a blast!

PS Ride the Ducks

I never went, but my father did last year. He said that the heat was unbearable for him in the summer. But then again, he's always bothered by the heat!

We live just a about 3 hours from Branson. It does get very hot here in the summer so I would advise you to use caution if traveling with very young, elderly or physically ill folks. Branson if a very built up tourist area, the streets are crowded and there are lots of traffic problems. There is so much to do it would be wise to start planning what shows you would like to do now. Silver Dollar City is loads of fun as is the water park there. Don't expect it to be as magical as WDW. The ducks are a blast cars/boats that take you on a tour of the area. My kids always love the fish hatchery. There are many mini golf places to spend a fun evening. If you have a sportsman in your group you may want to stop at the Basspro shop in Springfield. The place is huge! Hope that this helps you some have fun!

Missouri weather is wierd. Some summers might be good, some may be unbearable. However if you think that a Minnesota summer is bad then I would not go to Branson in July. You are guaranteed hot and humid. It is a matter of 90 vs 100+ in July.

Our winter here so far has been absolutely strange and I do fear for our summer. I still have some GREEN GRASS! For some reason it just not want to stay COLD.
