Hi guys! I just thought I'd drop in and say hello as a new member. :cutie: My family has been to Disney World two times so far. Once quite a few years ago when I was little and then a couple years ago over Chirstmas (never again! :sad1: ) . We became members of the Disney Vacation Club on our last trip and are planning on making another trip down in March.

You see, I graduate from High School this year and the trip is a sort of Graduation Present from my parents. I'm terribly excited as I've been allowed to bring two friends (both of whom have never been to Dinsey) and it's the first Big Trip that I've really been "in" on the planning. I've gotten to be involved with everything from where we'll be staying to what we'll be doing down there and this forum has been an endless well of helpful information. Thank you!

That's a great present. Keep in mind this is a very special time for your parents and try not to break away from them too much while you are there. This may very well be the last time they get to take you before you leave the nest so to speak. As a teen, I couldn't wait to get away and now as a parent of a 5-year-old, I can't value this time enough...so go easy!

What time during Christmas did you go? Was it the actual holiday or before or after the holiday. Were the crowds bad?

Thanks for the advice :) I'm pretty close with both my parents; so, even with my friends there, they shouldn't feel too left out!

We went right over Christmas. It was short of a last minute present given to us by my mother, who had just finished up a good year with her personal business. Magic Kingdom, from what I remember, was packed and we didn't end up being able to go on many rides. Animal Kingdom wasn't quite that bad, but we also had fastpasses from going to listen to the Vacation Club people. Epcot was what really let me down though. The crowds were large, yes and we waited in lines for everything, but it was rainy. So bad that most of the performers weren't out and a couple attractions were closed down. Epcot is my favorite, so I was really dissapointed that, that day was miserable.

The bad weather continued all week, but cleared up the next. :headache: The local news sations were all excited about how the temperature should be back up to around 75 degrees the day after we left.

None the less, we still had a good time and were able to mill around quite a bit, taking in the atmosphere.
