Brand new to board and to Disney!

hello everyone - have happily stumbled on this board, and although I have to confess the wealth of information is scaring me hugely, I'm getting v excited...

We (me and DH) have never been to Disney anywhere! The nearest I've been is watching Toystory3 today (and the castle logo at the beginning got me supersmiley!). we have DS (6) and DD (3) and we planned to go this year, but the redundancy fairy hit about 18m ago...

but we're back on the payroll and ready to get planning, for May/June Florida

possibilities at the mo are a private hire in regal palms, and virgin flights...will need to source a car for 6 tho (grandparents coming too)
Am very early in planning stages tho...

If you are a planner and can take advise you will fit right in here. Most of us have been many times and come here for info and to chat with other Disney nuts.

The very first thing you need to do is decide where and how long you will be staying. Consider both on and off site hotels. Then you move to tickets. How many days and what type of tickets do you need. Will you hop parks ? Do you like water parks ? And finally you have to plan for meals. Depending on when your trip is you will almost certainly need reservations for any sit down Disney dining. Those reservation have to be made 90 days out.

There is a lot to process here but we all take it in stride and enjoy the challenge. But you can just go in blind and have fun too. Be warned ifyou do that you might just pay way too much and miss a lot too. Have fun and welcome to the club.
