Brand new DVC members...

We are brand new DVC members as of 4:00pm this afternoon (we bought direct from the DVC location @ SSR). We were wondering if there are any sites you recommend to learn tips & tricks to be well informed DVC members & how to use our membership the most efficient way we can. We will follow this board but would love to know other sites that are helpful too. Thanks so much for your help!

I've actually learned most of my tricks from these boards and practicing on my own. Made a few mistakes, none that couldn't be fixed. We are still under a year from jointing and going on our third trip! Wish I had more points. Lol.

Thanks everyone - we are excited about being DVC members. Our home resort is AKL. I will keep checking back here to learn more. We just want to be as knowledgable as possible & use the DVC membership for all it's worth. My husband's already thinking we might need more points as well.

We bought at AKV this year too! I think once you purchase you always second guess whether or not you bought enough points.....we did.

Congratulations, and Welcome Home! AKV is our home resort, too. We have been members for almost five years and have used our AKV points for stays at all of the WDW resorts except VWL and BCV. We still love our stays at Kidani the most, although the one time we did the CL was great and we can't wait to do the Sunrise Safari, again!

I was thinking about ordering the Passporter DVC book. Have you read it? Is it helpful?

I love the DIS boards!!! They have helped me SO MUCH in planning trips the last six years. Right now I'm planning our first ever cruise (DCL Dream). DIS members have been so friendly & helpful in my answering my many questions. My only cruise knowledge was watching the Love Boat when I was a kid.
