Don't be surprised by the low post number, I have been reading the forum now for quite some time and have read this entire thread front to back. I'm still however a little lost on what building to request for our stay starting on 5/2 thru 5/9 (Woo Hoo).

There are 4 of us and we are all adults however 2 of us are 50+ and the other 2 are in their mid 20's, but all family, no kids with us at all. We are interested in a quiet location not near the BIG pool but near "a" pool. Distance to food is somewhat important but we don't mind walking some. From what I have read it sound like we should request 9b but I thought I would ask the experts.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and really thanks for all the wonderful info I have found here.

9B is club level now (i believe) I think 9A would be better if you got it. The quiet pool is right outside of 9A along with the laundry. It is a beautiful short walk over to El Centro from here. I'm sure Kathy will have some other suggestions as well.:goodvibes:goodvibes

EDIT: Link to a map ... http://www.plan-a-magical-vacation.com/support-files/coronado-springs-map-pdf.pdf

DH and I are 50+ and we've done CSR since in our 40's. We always request Casitas 4 or 5...it is near the fitness center/spa and the quiet pool. We have found it to be a very quiet location. It is about a five to six minute walk to the main building (registration, gift shop, food, nightime lounge, etc)., and about an eight to ten minute walk to the main pool. The quiet pool is literally a minute away. Cabana 9B is also close to the main building and not far from the main pool. However, it is also the most requested building and if there is a convention going on, it will more than likely be filled with convention guests.

So it sounds like Casitas 4 or 5 would be great for the quiet need but I have read that not all of these rooms have been renovated. Would that make 9A the top choice. Thanks for that map it's the most detailed one I have seen. I also like the fact that 9A is close to parking as we will have a car and will not be using the buses.

Casitas 4 will be done by the end of this week. There is a bus stop near hear as well. But Cabana 9A would be a great choice. Just remember...a request is just that...a request. :goodvibes

Requests - I know they are only requests and can not always be honored.
But - we have no fax.

Can I do snail-mail ?
Write a nice cute polite note and send it to the room controller, so it arrives about 4 days before we arrive ?
Maybe mail the letter 8 days before we leave, if we arrive on a Saturday ?

Thanks for any advice.

I think CSR will beat any price the Dolphin will have. :goodvibes

Just love the comments and pictures on this thread.
Now to decide between Casita 4 and Cabana 9a :confused3

 Fax requests are not a necessity, just have the requests added to your reservation and ask the CM at check-in. They are more than happy to help you find a room in the area you'd like, if available, and will even arrange for a move the next day day should they see one will become available then, if not when you check-in. :)

We've been staying is Disney resorts for 30 yrs and have never faxed a request! If the location we hoped for is not what we're assigned, we just ask nicely if one might be available "today or tomorrow". So far, we've always had a wonderful room location. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip!!! :goodvibes

I just had to share my excitement. My countdown is now at 14 DAYS!!!

Oh, JamesLynn...I am so happy for you that hte time is quickly approaching. I know how much you have been looking forward to seeing the family! I can't wait for your "single digit dance."

Thanks! I see chips and salsa -- that's always a great thing! I'm specifically looking for a loaf of bread -- anyone know if they sell bread? deli meat?

5 days for us!! :cool1:

Just did online check in, and on ours it say's under room requests connecting room(guaranteed) or our other room it just says connecting room.

sending the fax in tomorrow!

YEAH!! :thumbsup2 I'm so excited that I'm going to burst ! Hearing about people getting ready to leave, doing their on-line check in, faxing in requests, I want to get out my suitcase (oh wait it's already in the bedroom) Hummm... I guess I'll read more posts, screech a bit, do my happy dance & grab some more wine :goodvibes

Moe - 15 days tomorrow (cause today is almost over so it doesn't count anymore)

hi, we will be getting to csr on 5/16. should i put in a request for a room before we go? i am in a wheelchair although i requested a handicapped wheelchair accessible room i did not pick a location. what would be the best location as far as being next to the main dining and the main pool?

thanks, rose:)

I see milk in there...does anyone know if Panchitos sells half and half?

I know.. a bizarre question, but I need to know for TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!

No, they do not sell bread. HOWEVER, you can buy a loaf of bread at the Pepper Market...they have their own site bakery!

I'm trying to decide whether to use a credit card or a debit card for room charges when we check in. I know at the Value resorts they authorize $500 on your card. I think I remember reading somewhere that the amount is more for Moderate resorts and even more for Deluxe resorts. Does anyone know how much they pre-authorize at CSR?

TIA!!

It used to be $500.00 at a Value, $1000.00 at a Moderate and $1500.00 at a Deluxe. I think it still is.

Thank you for all the valuable information! We needed a hotel for 2 nights before we check into our DVC and after reading all your wonderful reviews we booked CSR. We have stayed at POR and POFQ, but, were always curious about CSR, we are sooo excited. Quick question, is there a pack n play in the room or should I request one?

We are leaving in 6 days...yaaaayyy!

You'll have to request one. Let us know how the trip went when you get back. Enjoy your stay at the CSR! :)
