JamesLynn Have a wonderful vacation and enjoy your time with your family.

To everyone leaving soon I hope you have a great trip too!

I do have two more questions.
1. What address do I use to ship our water to?
2. How far in advance can I have the water dropped off?

Thanks for your help!

Our arrival at the Coronado including the time zone loss was at 2:40pm. Check in was a little chaotic, but not overly crowded. The entire process took about 30 minutes with my family and my parents checking into separate rooms. We had booked the 4/3 deal with dining and had sent in our requests through the travel agent and faxed in the same request. We expressed our desire to stay in the Cabanas, but we were not able to get those for the first night only. So for the first night we stayed in Casitas 5. The room was not renovated, no issue for us. We had a lake view and it was very nice. Guest services did set us up for a room switch the next morning and they were there at 8am sharp to move us to Cabanas 8A. These rooms were renovated and exceptional. Again, we had a lake view which was even better because we were closer to the water and it had a wonderful view over the sandy beach.

We have stayed at Wilderness Lodge and Swan and the basic room design is always the same with different colors and themes. Basically this is a deluxe styled room at a moderate price. You all have seen pictures of the rooms so I will not post additional of those. We did have a spcieal scene in our room at the end of every day and as you can tell the beds were very comfortable. Similar to that of the heavanly beds at the Swan.

Mousekeeping was there each morning and always left us a window greeting which the kids loved. All their stuffed animals would be there in the window like a pet waiting for you to come home. We used the safe for small valuables, but left things like laptops in their bags and had no issues.
We ate at the Pepper Market a couple of times and the food was always good. The first time we went the system was a little confusing, but simple on each return. This was not exceptional food, but good. It is quite a festive type place and thus the atmosphere is a loud. We have kids and noise is normal, not an issue. On the dining plan price was not an issue. I did notice prices though and they were middle of the road to expensive, for meals. Not too many things are that econimcal at WDW regarding food anyway. They have a very nice bakery setup, breakfast was good and the mexcian food was quite good, even for Texan taste buds.

The resort was always perfectly cleaned, the views were all beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. The resort itself was probably 80% full for most of our stay. At the end of the week it may have been overbooked with the Childrens Miracle Network Convention. They started packing in Friday and on Saturday they were busting at the seams. This did not really have an impact on bus travel though. They were always on time and only a couple of times did we have to stand on the bus, which was usually on the way back after park closings.
The main pool (Dig Site) was fun for the kids. The life guards were very interactive with the kids at the slide. LG’s stayed strict on the rules, but they even made those fun. FYI, the pool bar shuts down at 6:00PM. Food orders shutdown an hour before that. We toted in our own small cooler a couple of times, but tried to order nachos around 5:30pm to no avail. The hot tub is large and at one point we had 12 people in there comfortably.
The lakes were great and eventhough the marina was shutdown (including guide trips)
So to answer a question in advance that may come up later, would we stay at CSR again? Yes, although it may be quite a few trips in the future because we want to try other resorts as well. The new rooms are an upgrade from the old, especially the beds. Those beds were really nice for a good nights sleep. The resort is basically quiet. Even with numerous guests coming back late at night you would only hear them if you were outside or had the door open.

Thanks, Dreamin'Dad. I was wondering about your trip and if you were going to report back. Your daughters (princesses) are adorable. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your pictures. Your view was stunning; I think we may leave the comfort of Casitas 5 and ask for Cabanas this year.

Based on the notes in the first Post I'm considering staying at CSR in January. It would be me and my DW staying in Casitas Bldg 4 or 5. Any thoughts or recommendations. This would be our first time at CSR. I've been at Pop Century for the last 4 times and want to try other resorts.

We've stayed at CSR seven times (number eight, hopefully, in September). Four of the last five visits we've been in either Casitas 4 or 5 (we were in Casitas 3 this last trip only becasue we were upgraded to a suite). We love 4 and 5 as they are close to the quiet pool, fitness center/spa and not that long of a walk to the main building or main pool (it takes me about five to six minutes in the morning to walk to get our coffee (at a leisurely pace) and about eight to ten minutes to walk to the main pool.

There are lots of helpful people on the CSR thread so if you have any questions, ask away and we'll try to answer you. We also have a CM from CSR who pops in when she can to help too!

Dreamin' Dad, thank you for taking the time to post a review! What a fabulous view!!!

Every time I read of a guest moving to another location at CSR, the guest service seems to be one of the best of the resorts. We had to move the morning after arrival once at the Poly and it was not great- we were without a room or luggage (with 4 munchkins) from 8 a.m. until after 5 p.m. the day of the move.

Glad you had such a nice stay at CSR - your girls are darling! :)

Thanks for such a gracious and quick response. I need to read more before I ask questions.

Thanks for the great review. CSR is our favorite of all the Disney resorts. We have tried many of the resorts and keep coming home to CSR. Now with the renovated rooms and queen size beds, we don't feel like going anywhere else, BUT I'm really glad we tried the others... :thumbsup2

DreaminDad-Thanks for such a great review!! Its so nice to hear that you were moved to a locale of your choice on the second day.

Kathy,
Your post of the grocery pictures had me laughing. Your typing and the first picture fit perfectly on the screen. It looked like the only thing they were selling there were beer, wine, and water!!! Now that's my kinda of grocery store!!!:rotfl::lmao:

can i use a snack credit at Panchitos

I do not think so. I think you can only use them at Cafe Rix. JamesLynn might know and hopefully she'll confirm.

You are too funny, Tim....and my kind of guy! :rotfl:

thanks for the review Dreamin'Dad! Now I'm even more excited for our stay at CSR in 10 days. I'm trying not to worry about room location, DH and I decided if we can't get in one of the buildings we request we'll ask if there's anything available there the next day. Hoping we get one of our requests though. (any room in the cabana section basically)

I saw this asked on another thread about BC and I thought I would inquire here. Can children wear life jackets on the slide?

I remember this question being asked before but I don't remember the answer to it (our boys were old enough and knew how to swim and didn't need them). Here are the slide rules:

I'm faxing in our room requests today. Our top priorities are connecting rooms w/ my parents, and a newly renovated room.
I'm not sure what area of the resort we should request? We plan to spend time at the pool each day, so it would be nice to be close by. I understand that the bus stops aren't too far from any location? The other issue is that it might be troublesome to be too far away from the food court area-- our son has severe food allergies and we'll be bringing a lot of his own foods. But we'll need to use a microwave daily; if we can't get one in our room it would be convenient to be close to one.
If anyone has advice I'd love to hear it! I'm sure we can make it work w/ whatever area we get...just might need to do some more walking. Come to think of it, that might not be a bad thing. Just tried on my bathing suit :scared1:

You are too funny! Do not put too many requests in your fax per JamesLynn (our CSR CM who pops in from time to time with advice). It confuses things for the room assignors. I would ask for connecting rooms in the Cabanas section (this covers the renovated rooms because all of the Cabanas are done). When you check in if you don't get Cabanas, explain your son's situation and see what they can do for you. If you end up in Casitas 4 or 5 (4 is almost done, 5 has not been started as far as renovations), it is only about a five minute walk or so to the main building and about an eight minute walk or so to the main pool.

Don't be surprised by the low post number, I have been reading the forum now for quite some time and have read this entire thread front to back. I'm still however a little lost on what building to request for our stay starting on 5/2 thru 5/9 (Woo Hoo).

There are 4 of us and we are all adults however 2 of us are 50+ and the other 2 are in their mid 20's, but all family, no kids with us at all. We are interested in a quiet location not near the BIG pool but near "a" pool. Distance to food is somewhat important but we don't mind walking some. From what I have read it sound like we should request 9b but I thought I would ask the experts.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and really thanks for all the wonderful info I have found here.
