Hi all,
my husband and I are celebrating our 10yr anniversary and decided to take the family to Disney as our gift to ourselves!:cool1:

So my question is this, we have never stayed on the resort as a family. I stayed as POR once as a kid, but never for husband and kids. We decided to upgrade to CSR today and now I'm wondering where I should request, if I should request any area in particular. My kids are 7, 5 and 1.

If you recommend making a request, how do I go about doing that? Do I call or do I fax or both, and if I fax, where do I find the number?

Thanks for all of the help! Everyone on here is amazing!

We stayed in Cabanas 8B last trip. We had a DD2, she's 3 now. We loved where we were. Close to the dig site, nice short walk to El Centro, close to a quiet pool (we didn't use it), next to bus stop #4, even close to the laundry.

As far as your requests... first I'd contact Disney or your TA and have them add your requests onto your reservation. Secondly you can fax Coronado 5 days before with your requests as well. (We didn't fax and still got our 2nd request)

Coronado Springs Resort
1000 West Buena Vista Drive
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-1000
Telephone: (407) 939-1000
Fax: (407) 939-1001

Have a great time planning!!!!!:goodvibes

Although we have been to WDW many many times, we will be staying at CSR for the first time in June. Did I read somewhere that there is a marina where you can rent boats? Mainly I was hoping for those mini-speedboats, I think my girls (10 and 16) would like them. If anyone knows the rates, that would be great too. They are saving up Disney Dollars for extras like that.

I just came across these boards a couple weeks ago and I have to say they are AWESOME! I thought I knew a lot about Disney after 20 or so trips, but I can't believe how much info you all have and are so wonderful about sharing. Thanks so much!

We were in Cabana's 8A with kids ages 11 and 9. We loved the location as it was close to the main pool. The bus stop was also close. It was maybe a 10 min walk at a slow "kids pace" to the main building but we didn't mind that at all. Try to think about what is most important for your family to be close to and then request an area near that. For us it was the Dig Site pool and being in 8A was perfect for us.

One week until my vacation starts!
The next day, my aunt arrives!
Then the next day, Mom, Dad, cousin, and sister arrive!

Now I have to start planning what to do for hubby and I's 2 year anniverary in July. In a toss up between Vero Beach and a resort on property.

Have a great vacation and fun time with your family! :goodvibes

Congrats on your anniversary too! Enjoy yourselves wherever you decide on staying. I'm sure you can't lose out whichever you choose!! ;)

Hey everyone......I'm in the airport and my friend who is a cm at Disney just found out we are in room 34 something.....Can anyone tell me if that would be a refurbished room? Thanks guys!! CSR in 5 hours........YIPEE!!!

Room "34 something" seems like it would be building 3 (in the Casitas) and floor #4. According to others here, all the top floors of the Casitas are renovated (except building 5).

I hope this is right, and I hope you have a wonderful trip!!! :)

I'm looking for some info on the fridge size at CSR. I think I saw a pic of the outside, and it looked pretty small...maybe just the way it is designed? Just wondering if it is the same size as in the other mods or not. Can it fit a 1/2 gal. of milk or juice?

Also, does it stay plenty cold? I know some have commented on the fridges at other resorts not staying cold enough, and needing to keep the outer door open so that the fridge stays the right temp.

Just curious!

Thanks!

It's small but it held 1/2 gallon of milk plus countless bottles of water and juice for us! For us, yes we had to keep the outer door open for it to be as cold as we needed it to be. If we left it closed, it was cool but not as cold as we wanted. It was HOT in March and we wanted our drinks bordering on frozen!

I totally agree. Keep the door open. I have found you need to do this at all the resorts we have stayed at where the fridge was boxed in.

we're at the 4 day mark, sent a fax this afternoon! Can't wait, let's hope people stop freaking out about swine flu and it disappears

Is there a direct bus from CSR to the Boardwalk ?
Does it run only during a specific time frame ?

From the Passporter website:
Coronado Springs has a direct bus to the Boardwalk

Thank you. :)

There was no bus to the Boardwalk when we were there last week. As far as I know there are no busses that run resort to resort. You would need to take a bus to a park or Downtown Disney and transfer to a Boardwalk bus. We drove to the Boardwalk and it was very close. A cab would be the quickest way if you don't have a car, and I doubt it would cost too much.

We took a cab from the Boardwalk back to CSR and it cost about $10 with tip.

Thnak you for the advice. We love to stay at EPCOT for a while, then go over to the BW. At the BW we can eat dinner, rent a bike for a while and then see the fireworks. It's an easy way to wlak back tot he Dolphin.
But we could taxi it for $10 back to CSR, if we stay at CSR. Not a bad way to get back quick with less bus waits.

Thank you again for the taxi/BW suggestions.
