BRAINSTORMING Fresh Ideas for DIS-Con II

1) Jelly Rolls Mini Meet: I think I'll type out the words to some Christmas carols and pass them out. That way we can all participate.

2) Maybe Pete can get us a piano for the opening or closing reception and we can belt out our Christmas carols there as well.

3) I think Prime Time would be a fun place to congregate.

4) Instead of an ERT on ToT, maybe we could get Splash, Thunder, and Buzz Lightyear.

5) Instead of 2 dessert parties, maybe one of them could be a cocktail party.

6) Instead of $55/gallon punch, maybe we could have $55/gallon eggnog.

Any others??? Let's help Pete and crew make 2002 Bigger and Better!

Here's my thoughts:
If the weather would cooperate, I would love to do a pool party. Don't know how that would work with everyone staying at different resorts. But, I only got one chance to swim and it clouded over the minute I got by the pool. (figures)
I loved the Illuminations dessert party and would love to have that again.
I loved the GF tea!!!! That was so elegant and special. That's on my to do list again.
I would have loved to go dancing, too. I guess some did go, but I missed that. I love to dance and would have had a ball! Next time let's all do that!
We joked about getting the words to the songs from the rides and having a Splash Mountain sing-a-long, too! How much fun would that be?!? LOL
Tia, I like your ideas! A cocktail party sounds nice, too.
And, I would like having a couple of get togethers at restaurants. Our lunch at Norway was fun, although a little long! But, Prime Time sounds like a great place to go!
I had a blast at JellyRolls, so I would like to see that again. Karaoke was fun, but a bit crowded. We were in the other room, and it was hard to visit with everyone.
The Adventurer's Club was really fun, too. I liked seeing DIS'ers get picked on. (as long as it wasn't me) I can't believe I missed SSB's spider!
I'm sure other ideas will pop into our heads over the next few months. And, I know Linda has some things up her sleeve, too! DIS-Con 2002, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!

Definitely need a night for dancing. Poor Livia kept begging us to take her Disco dancing. We promised her that we'd do it next year.

Hi!

I'm back but not fully recovered -LOL

I just happen to have a few things planned for next year already and will anounce then ASAP (or Pete will)... We do want to do something inside the MK next year as we did this year but MVMCP really messes things up for us. I have already planned to start the breakfasts an hour later I don't care what the commandos have to say but 7am was tough especially if you had to be there at 6:30 like me but over all I thought the characther breakfast was fun and the food was good. We want to do something different one of the nights and I'm working on that now - it will be fun I can assure you of that.

How about making the convention a day longer? Would that work for y'all or would it be too long?

Can't wait to see more photos!

Welcome back Linda! Doesn't matter how long you make the convention. I've already made up my mind I'm spending 2 weeks down there (1 week for the convention....1 week to recover).

Hi Linda. I just sent you a little PM. I think another day would be fantastic! I've already decided that either I take my family back next spring or fall.......or they come first for a week, and then they go home while I party on!!!

I agree, 7am is just way too early. My appetite doesn't even kick in until later in the morning. I just needed the coffee!!!!!
Well, I'm certainly curious as to what's in store for next year. An extra day would probably work, too. It would give us the time to "stop and smell the roses" that we really needed towards the end of the convention. I'm still suffering from convention lag!
I think I'll be adding my extra days to the front and back of the convention. When it gets too close to Christmas, I'll have trouble with the last minute details. I'll just have to be more organized the next time!

What about having a dinner at the YC Convention Hall? With 3 choices for appetizer, dinner and dessert to be chosen ahead of time to make the logistics easier? And to make people go around and meet others, everyone gets a character name when they go in and you have to find the other person with that name?
