Of course, I was just bragging on Facebook today that we went to see Super 8 this morning. I know all my friends will be jealous but I just had to share my glamourous life, you know?![]()
Show off!!!
I don't use Facebook, but I read Failbook religiously so I've seen a lot of things. And occasionally my husband will show me something interesting or stupid (or both) on FB. Some of the most annoying are my little teenage nieces who will post things to their boyfriends... blech. "I feel so safe in your arms! You are my life!" You know what? You're 14 years old, and this is just not right.

At the moment I have two friends(not connected) going thru a divorce and yep you guessed it playing it out on FB.....sweet Jesus, mary mother of god these peeps are telling stuff that nobody needs to know, its sad BUT strangly entertaining as just a year or so ago they were the ones who..."have the best life ever, I love my hubby, are kids are perfect"....yada, yada, yada day in and day out, so now
There life isnt so great, there is NO love loss between them and there kids are heathens I guess!!

This isn't just a Facebook thing. I can think of at least two blogs I've followed that had the same pattern - a constant stream of "Oh, I love him so much, he's so fantastic, blah blah blah"... and then one day "Oh, we're getting a divorce, the past year has been SO miserable, blah blah blah..."
Nobody would think it strange if said person was relaxing on the deck and reading a book. Why is relaxing on the deck and playing on FB any different from that?
Exactly. If I were relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine, I might whip out my iPhone to play a round of Words With Friends, catch up on my email, etc. Why is checking/updating Facebook different? Why would you tell someone their method of relaxation was not appropriate?
