Boys character breakfast to start April 1???

I have to agree. My son is 14 and he LOVES Jasmine's costume. ;) :rolleyes2

Mine too :lmao: He has even resorted to little tricks to get over to Moracco to see her  --he has a 10yo sister and he tells her that they have to go back there to see the characters! Like I have not figured that one out yet! Especially since DD is rarely in search of but a few characters per vacation now.

No flames please, I just wanted to make a comment.

I see a lot of people with girls are riled up about some people calling it a boy's character meal.

If you had only boys you would understand our excitement. Not saying that girls don't like Toy Story, but this would be a buffet that has no princesses which is a big deal for Disney.

I feel that Disney caters to girls about 80% vs 20% for boys...again just MHO. I agree with the other posters that it is much easier for girls to go to a Toy Story meal than 2 boys going to a princess breakfast.

I am not trying to start/continue a disagreement, but here is my PERSONAL opinion. Granted I have 2 girls, so maybe I do not understand. I also agree disney has gone princess crazy. My girls are a little older and "over" the princesses, so I understand. But ... I do not think there is a shortage of "boy friendly" or "gender neutral" or "princess free" character meals. There is Donald's Breakfastasaurus, Chef Mickeys, even Cape May cafe (surfer Goofy is cool) and 'Ohana and Garden Grill. Pooh can be included too because I don't necessarily think only girls like Pooh. What about Liberty Tree Tavern???

I agree this Toy Story breakfast will be great for the boys, but Toy Story was my DD's favorite movie, so its good for girls too. I will make a PS as soon as it becomes available for my girls. I also wish they would bring back the villains!!!

Ah yes, but most boys nowadays don't play with Mickey toys and Pooh toys like they may have in the past. Donald? Well let's just say my son's middle name is Donald and he HATES being teased about it- Donald & even Pooh are NOT considered "cool" with the boys at school apparently. Don't get me wrong, I love those characters and my son tolerates them better than a princess meal (for instance- and by tolerate I mean is less embarrassed by it/enjoys it more) but you're gonna compare that to Buzz & the army men?!?? Little boys nowadays would enjoy those characters more than say Pooh... come on. LOL Now a power ranger spd breakfast.. he'd be in heaven. LOL Pirates of the Caribbean breakfast- probably even better. LOL

Must also add that I agree a Toy Story character breakfast is good for girls too and I wouldn't necessarily call it or refer to is as a "boys" breakfast. I'm sure my girls (atleast the youngest for sure) would enjoy it too.

Ditto to the person that said too bad it's at MGM because that's not in the plans for our next trip but hopefully it will still be around for our trip AFTER this next trip. So y'all all be sure to do this breakfast so it will hang around. LOL

I wish they would kind of turn it into a "pixar" breakfast:) maybe a few from toy story or monsters inc or incredibles. Yes, I know it won't happen, but I think it would be pretty cool :goodvibes

Power Ranger Breakfast and Pirates of the Caribbean breakfast are great ideas!! I think these would be in high demand. Why doesn't Disney do more of these? Because they maybe fade in and out more as trends go?? I am not sure, but I think they would be big hits with the kids (and what mom wouldn't want to eat with Capt. Jack pirate:  ???)

FYI - called dining today and asked about it and the CM told me that nothing was confirmed yet. I'm so excited for this opportunity! :bounce: Guess I'll keep calling every week!

IF, and a big if, I remember correctly when PSB started there was not much time between when they started excepting PS's and it actually begining..less then a week or two if I'm right.

My friend works in the entertainment department as a character attendant, and said the breakfast would have Woody, Buzz, Sarge, Peter Pan, and Mr. Incredible, and possibly Frozone.
She doesn't know when it will start though.

Well, that would be really cool, but I have to ask where Peter fits in to that mix? Oh well, I don't care who is there, it's a new character meal and I will have to try it! Can't wait! :thumbsup2

...and I've been calling every week to check. My DS (7..soon to be 8) would LOVE this. Unfortunately, Disney Dining is keeping their lips locked and won't say when it starts! I'll keep checking though.

What? I agree with the other poster- wondering how Peter Pan fits in there but I guess it's really no different than say a princess breakfast where Mulan and Wendy show up too? Sounds like it's "male figures" themed (not necessarily only for boys- so I won't call it a boy character meal- just that the characters are MALE). That's the only way Peter Pan fits in there.

But let me tell you- as it gets closer to the time for this to start, if it's confirmed those are who will be there- we may just have to do a little park hopping on our only day at WDW on this trip (we'd planned on only doing MK that one day before the cruise). My son would be so thrilled!

Heros?

That it is confirmed that a breakfast at Hollywood & Vine will begin in April. It also said the actors are through a different union (Actors Equity) than most of the characters in the parks. If you go to www.mouseplanet.com and click on the WDW news from Jan. 23 you can read the little paragraph. :thumbsup2

Very cool, I like frozone and tried like mad to get my pic with him and have been unsuccessful sine our 04 trip.

I am glad my trip starts in November so I can hear all about it - if and when it starts.

I read it to say that the actor playing "Sarge" would be Equity. I'm betting he is going to act as some sort of master of ceremonies.

I will ditch our lunch at Prime Time to do a Hero's breakfast at H&V.

We did H&V back in 2002 for breakfast. It was my DD's birthday. She wore her Minnie ears and Minnie t-shirt. My DD and had her picture taken with Minnie.
What great memories.

Now for my DS's turn.
We'll be looking for June 28th - I am hoping the ADR's are available soon. Our week is filling up with other great places to eat.

We also have H&V for our Fantasmic dinner package 2 days after we would do the Hero's breakfast. Should we keep H&V for Fantasmic or pick Mama Melrose or Brown Derby ?

ooh, planning to take my nephew to WDW next January. I would love to take him to the Hero Breakfast :cool1:

I'm looking for the week before, June 21st. Our Fantasmic Pkg. is for Mama Melrose at 4:00 that afternoon. I'd love to add this as a late morning breakfast, and avoid having CS at the Studios at all! I wouldn't want to eat at H&V twice in one day, especially when there are other good restaurants, but that's just my opinion. A character breakfast is certainly different enough than a dinner, so I guess it would feel very different.

Do we think this breakfast will be a buffet?
