I can't imagine why Disney would have any problem, but why the "Crown" package vs Royal or Knight? Does the boy want his fingernails painted and make-up put on?
I would call Disney and ask, but I don't think it will be a problem.![]()
Can I ask a question which I promise has NO negativity attached to it at all?
Please read the ENTIRE thing before getting upset!
Since he wants hair and make-up - is he transgender?
The reason I ask is if he is transgendered or exploring then why not just let him dress in "girl's clothes" for the entire day - then when he gets there he is "a girl" and they can't say anything about it? I think that if he were mine and was interested I would just do that to solve any potential problems. Then if the family is uncomfortable RE bathrooms just use the companion/family ones for the day.
I have a friend whose daughter is in elementary school and was born a boy. She fully identifies with being female and has changed her name. If she wanted a make-over would anyone question it? Of course not because she IS a girl. If your friends little one isn't as far along in the process then maybe getting to have a magical day at DL would be an amazingly unique thing.
I also have sons who when they were little just liked to dress up in any old random thing and could easily go from ballgowns to spacemen. It never came up but if they wanted a princess make-over and weren't actually transgendered or exploring, and hence wouldn't be in the parks wearing "female" clothes I would call Disney and see what the policy is and then ask the kids to make their decision on what they want to do based on that - IE skip it or not.
I appreciate the advice. He is not transgender (or if is it hasn't discussed it-no one would mind either way) but loves Princesses and 'girly" stuff and thankfully has wonderful parents/older brother/friends who don't care or want to guide him into more boys" stuff.
He will likely be wearing his Elsa dress but i'm sure if you asked him if he was a girl he would say no.
I'm sure he is not the first or last boy interested in doing this and am hoping that Disney wouldnt care what package he chooses.
If he's wearing an Elsa dress anyway I'd just go for itI don't think Disney is going to touch that one with a ten thousand foot pole. You want to be on the news telling a "cross dressing" little one they couldn't do that. But of course phone anyway - find out who the manager is that day maybe so you can have everything smoothed out before hand.
FYI - My little girls are going as fairy princesses AND we also have Woody and Buzz costumes packed. I just don't get why an adorable little girl dressed as Buzz is "cute" but a sweet little boy dressed as Cinderella is "wrong".
I hope everything goes great and you have a fun trip!
There's also a place that does Frozen makeovers in DtD, so they'll have 2 options.
