You read correctly, a co-worker of mine said her son was recently sent home and suspended from school for wearing "tight pants".
I'm guessing they mean the skater guys that wear the girl pants or something like that.
I dont agree with them wearing it either, but your taking away there freedom.
Seriously.

What if they used their "freedom" to go to school in just their boxers? I'm pretty sure people would be ticked. Also you got to remember they have alot or rules for female clothing. This actually does make since to ban if you think about it.

Yeah most schools have a lot of rules for what girls can wear, but don't have rules for the guys. I think its a good idea.

I agree with the school. Our school has so many restrictions on girls, and what they can and cannot wear, that I think it only fair for guys to have some restrictions to. Baggy pants is against the dress code here, especially if you can see their boxer shorts.

It's called "dress code". The school can do whatevery they like because, guess what, you signed that contract.

Besides, if you need to show your "creativity" while you're at school, there's problems.

omg... that is reallly dumb, and it kinda sucks, cuz i love skater guys in tight pants

wait.
so they'll ban tight pants, but they wont ban guys walking around with their pants half way down their backsides?
wut?
but i agree. it is dress code. school can do what they want.

I think if girls are allowed to wear skinny jeans guys should be allowed as well.

I have yet to be able to see a package because a guy has too tight of pants on.
Just sayin.

It's a little ridiculous, but you just gotta respect it. My school recently cracked down on the dress code (no sweats, no band/group tees, no cuffed jeans) and it was ridiculous at first, but it's pretty much understood now that we have to follow it.

I agree with this dress code, guys shouldn't be allowed to wear tight pants it doesn't seem right.

Guys here can where whatever they want pretty much. I haven't seen alot with the 'emo' jeans. It must be a highschool thing. But when I was back in HS, they had dresscodes for guys and girls. No tanktops, no shorts/skirts above the fingertips, ect.

we are allowed to wear them at my high school girls and boys...cause our school is chill..idk but my friend sitting here says it is discrimination. just cause they are boys dosnt mean the school can dress them. at least they dont have there butt hanging out of there pants. and i have yet to "see" anything cause the pants are tight.

It's school, nobody needs to show their 'creativity'. They are there to learn, that is all.

The problem is, the majority of students (and people in general) tend to learn and function better in a freer society. Especially people with creative minds.

I know that for me, being able to wear what I want has never been a problem because jeans, a tee, and sweatshirt are my normal garb.

I have also yet to see anything because of a guy's jeans being too tight (of course, though, Adam Lambert of American Idol is the exception to this, but he's the only one).

Besides, if they take it away, what do I have to laugh at?

A ban on... tight pants? Of all things? So they're allowed to wear really baggy pants around their knees with gang flags hanging out the back, but not tight pants? That's annoying. I don't wear super tight pants, but baggy pants feel weird. Not to mention, I don't want to have to put my pants up every few seconds.

The thought that at school we should dress like we're going to work is ridiculous.
That's my principals reasoning for the ban on sweatpants.
I wear a uniform to work. And after HS, where am I going? University, where I'll be surprised if I even bother to put effort in getting dressed if the class is early enough.
I am not a professional, and I don't pay attention when I'm not comfy. I spend time trying to pull at my clothes so they feel right.
And clothes that others wear are not a distraction to my learning either.
