Boycotting companies (aka I hate CVS)

Sorry to hear about the problems people had with CVS. I work there, but I know service really differs depending on the staff in each store. I bend over backwards to try to satisfy the customers, but when I was on maternity leave and getting my rxs filled at another CVS, I got really bad service.

You would probably be interested in my current situation with CVS then (and maybe you have a faster solution)-

I have been having extreme sleep problems- a week ago today my dr suggested I take .5mg of melatonin at 4pm every day. So I went to three pharmacies in NY- .5mg isn't made.

I got back to PA from Thanksgiving break and went to CVS at the first chance I had (Wednesday). I had them order a 1mg tablet for me. They said they would have it by noon on Thursday. I went back Thursday afternoon and they said it wasn't on the invoice and they would order it again and to come back on Friday. I went back on Friday and they couldn't find it and I didnt have the time to wait around so I said that I would be back the next day (Today, Saturday). They said they would make sure it was there. I walk over to CVS today in the freezing cold after food shopping in the morning (pharmacy there). Guy checks the invoice from Thursday and Friday and says it's unavailable in the warehouse and they dont know when they will be able to get it!!!!! They knew this on Thursday!!! Well they were "nice" enough to call all the pharmacies in the area (rural PA doesn't have many) and nobody has what I need (only have extended release or sublingual). CVS wasted my time walking there and back four days in a row and I could have ordered the melatonin on Thursday from an online company. So now I have to order online and wait a week or more for it to be shipped! Where should I order from? Is there anything else I should/could do??
I just want to sleep (I sleep an interrupted 2-3 hours a night) :sad2:

I won't buy another Ford car.

That's about it. There was a store I quit going to because the clerk was so rude, but it went out of business. :)

No, they get around it by saying that the "credit card price" is the regular price and the cash price is a discounted price for paying with cash. Unfortunately, that's perfectly legal. Sneaky, but legal.

Not really.

It might be legal as far as laws go, but the place that does it could get smacked with a $100,000.00 fine per its contract with the Visa/Mastercard people. And they offer rewards to customers, too.

Do a little research with your credit card provider (not the person on the card...like, if you had a Disney Visa, you wouldn't call Disney, you'd call Chase or whomever backs it.) You could get a reward! When I worked with that stuff, I think the reward was $2500.00. I know it was substantial, anyway.

No discounts for cash.

Ugh! Too bad I used my debit card. I guess I could call anyway and see what they say.

I hate CVS for mostly the same reason - the wait. I remember having a very sick little boy on my hands and running in from the doc's office to fill a prescription. I was told it would take 20 minutes, they're running behind even though they saw how sick DS was (I went to the car to wait). Over an hour later I was at their counter demanding an explaination to why they had me standing holding a sick kid for the last 40 minutes while they "got it ready". No appology was ever given & I'm the type that if they had at least tried to act with the sensitivity of a human, I would have said OK, it happens.

"Backed up" was no excuse as there were no other folks standing there waiting.
It was more like - OOPS we LOST it. OK, we found it again.

No no no - I will never use them again. I LOVE they guys & gals down at Brooks.

In my pharmacy if a very sick person came to the window straight from the doctor's with prescription in hand we put them to the head of the line and made sure they had a place to sit while we got it ready.

any chrysler car---

we've 2 and had nothing but problems with both--

customer service is a joke.

You can add Dodge to your list...same cars, different logos. We just got rid of our dead 99 Dodge Intrepid. It was seriously the worst car we ever had. It actually qualified for the lemon law. (which is a complete joke because you get the same type of car, same age...who would want one?? :confused3 ) Anyway, after paying $2700 for an extended warranty after it went off the regular warranty because it was having soooo much trouble, we were throwing $$ out the window on this car. This summer the engine went...no surprise to all the salvage yards we called. THEY wouldn't even take it.

The good news is we donated it to this place we heard about on the radio. Kars for Kids. They picked up the car for free, and just sent us a receipt for our taxes. They were able to sell the car for $1700!!! We get to write that off on our taxes. How bout that!!! :moped:

Dell - never ever ever again. Their customer service is the WORST!

There is a grocery store chain I won't shop at either because of a rude cashier 12 years ago. I was so glad when Publix came to town and built a nice new store practically in the parking lot of this other store! :thumbsup2

American Airlines - I have horror stories about their customer service.

I really dislike CVS. I used to use Eckerds, but CVS bought them and took over. The customer service took a nosedive and never recovered. After a year or so of using CVS, I got so fed up that I left and switched to the Publix pharmacy. I have never had another problem. :) They're polite, they communicate with my Doctor and they are great about keeping up with the auto refills. Now, I refuse to even set foot into a CVS unless it is beyond necessary (like when we needed a 24 hour pharmacy to fill DH's prescriptions for his root canal debacle a couple of weeks ago).
