We are going to Universal soon and we just found out my nephew has torn his pcl and is going into surgery before we leave. It's almost 100% he will be in a cast and a wheel chair. Poor little guy. Any tips for us? How does this effect rides (since he is 8 I am thinking he will still fit if he can't bend his knee)? Dining? Can you bring your own chair in or is renting better? To they have motorized vehicles for kids? Etc.

Are you asking for Universal or Disney since you posted in Universal thread.

If he can't bend his knee it is going to be hard. Even at 8 many rides at both parks require bent knees. I'm not sure if the wheel chair accessable boats and ride vehicles would allow enough space for someone in a knee cast.

At either part you can bring your own wheelchair and it is much better then renting as you will need to get him to the park and through the gate before being able to rent.

Universal. Oops

Ouch I hope he can go on stuff, I guess we won't know for sure until after the surgery but I'm betting no bending of knees :(

No motorized vehicles for kids for sure. I recommend you bring your own chair. It is just easier.

I'm really not sure what he will be able to ride with a non-bending knee. I suggest you contact the parks directly.
