I get HORRIBLE motion sickness - can't stnad to ride in cars, can't sit on the driver's side on the bus, etc. I survived Star Tours, but Body Wars ruined my whole day. I rode Mission Space (different trip) and thought it was way cool
There is nothing about the ride that will endanger your child. If he has an undiagnosed heart condition that can cause sudden death, he could die from playing ball in your yard with his friends.
There's no reason not to let him ride - if you think he can handle the feeling that he is in a rocket ship blasting into space. It is a very realistic experience. (well, obviously *I* haven't actually blasted into space to know - lol- but it sure felt like that's what was happening.) DH didn't ride due to all the warnings -he has a herniated disc. However, I don't think anything about it would have bothered his back. He regrets not riding. (btw - that's NOT to say anyone should ride if they have back problems!!!! I just think HE would have been okay with his particular situation. )I hope you have fun on your trip
