Boy who died on Mission Space update

My son is very much looking forward to this ride on our next trip and now I'm scared to let him ride it. If nothing else I'm worried he'll get sick to his stomach and the rest of the day will be ruined for him. Not sure what to do.

I get HORRIBLE motion sickness - can't stnad to ride in cars, can't sit on the driver's side on the bus, etc. I survived Star Tours, but Body Wars ruined my whole day. I rode Mission Space (different trip) and thought it was way cool :goodvibes

There is nothing about the ride that will endanger your child. If he has an undiagnosed heart condition that can cause sudden death, he could die from playing ball in your yard with his friends. :guilty: There's no reason not to let him ride - if you think he can handle the feeling that he is in a rocket ship blasting into space. It is a very realistic experience. (well, obviously *I* haven't actually blasted into space to know - lol- but it sure felt like that's what was happening.) DH didn't ride due to all the warnings -he has a herniated disc. However, I don't think anything about it would have bothered his back. He regrets not riding. (btw - that's NOT to say anyone should ride if they have back problems!!!! I just think HE would have been okay with his particular situation. )

I hope you have fun on your trip :)

A height requirement would not have saved this child.

He could have easily died on Maelstrom, Big Thunder Mountain, or It's a Small world if he had an irrational fear of dolls.

His death was ruled a natural cause as is heart was just ready to go. Any incident coudl have caused it.

a ride height requirement has nothing to do with death, nor does a G force requirement. crap happens, like it or not. it was an accident. they happen thousands of times a day in the USA alone. mom and dad looked to WDW to blame and profit from their child's demise. their next step will be to sue the last pediatrician who saw the child and not pick up on his irregular heartbeat.
