DS10 does his last Valetines Day box (decorated shoebox) this year. In the past, I have had heart stickers and usually some themed stickers. Last year he did Spongebob. I couldnt find them again.

He doesnt want it to be girly.

I have some Snoopy Valentine stickers that he said maybe to and just plain red heart ones.

We cant come up with any other ideas.

He like sports(and is giving sports shaped cards) so I suggested just putting some footballs etc on the things with some hearts. He wasnt sure if that was in the theme of VDay enough.

Any other thoughts or ideas, anything I can print off the Internet and have him glue on?

Thanks for any input.

Family Fun has boyish valentines that are hearts cut from camoflauged scrapbooking paper. He could use a similar idea and cut hearts (hey, that's valentines!) from sports themed paper to put on his box.

How about some of the red stuff from Cars? It's not valentine, but it's red.

Or let him go with whatever theme he wants, over a red background. He'll get a kick out of it, and who really cares it it's not Valentine themed?

That might work.

He likes Cars but thinks it is too young for 10.

He cares. And I already covered the box, silver per his request bc if he does put hearts on it they will show up better and I have red peel off letters for his name so he didnt want it red.

And people say girls are picky.

Party City near me had basic boxes of character valentines for 49 cents the other day. Have him pick out a box of boyish valentines then cut them up however he wants and glue them all over the box.

I'm sorry; I phrased that poorly. I meant to say that if he has a favorite theme, from Drake and Josh to Lacrosse, let him use that instead of the lace and hearts thing-- whatever makes him happy.

I got ya:thumbsup2

I found some basketballs all lumped together so I may see if he wants to trace some hearts on that.

Last year, DS9 has to make a Valentine Box at home.
I covered it with red bulletin board paper (I'm a teacher) & he stuck Yu-Gi-Oh stickers all over it. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone for your ideas. DS10 like the idea of making hearts associated with his theme. I googled the sports in questions (say football) and fabrics or football and wallpaper. Many had it designed like you would on wrapping paper. I printed these out and he traced hearts. So he has his VDay and his sports. It looks cute! And he is happy with it and mom is glad it is done:thumbsup2

we've always made a shaped box for my son (when he was young enough to exchange valentines :) One year we made a mail box, one smaller box on bottom, 2 reinforced papertowel tubes running up and then a larger box on top with the end cut on 3 sides to make a 'flap' like a mail box has. Then we modge podged red tissue paper all over it and voila...valentine mail box LOL
We've done a pig, a frog (you put the valentines in his mouth), a puppy and a red box with Scooby on it.
