Boy, talk about a few glitch's!!

so it's been an interesting week for us in wedding planning. first our oldest texts us ( no phone call - mind you) to say have the invitation read "Erik & Paula" - what???!!! I get this while I'm standing in the middle of Barnes & Noble on my very horrible, no-good day!! can we say "extremely pissed off??" now before you jump to the conclusion that I am a wicked Mom, undestand that we booked the Inn ONE YEAR AGO - there are ONLY 15 rooms and we very carefully filled the guest list according to the rooms. we had the 2 boys (young men) sharing a room .

so, frazzled by his text, I call our son and say a. a phone call would have been better and b. the 3 of them have to share a room as there are NO more rooms at the Inn!! he says, no problem - we'll get a room elsewhere . this is SO not acceptable and I advise him of so. ok, so we all agree, they will share a room. matter settled.

then , yesterday JJ and I go out to Long island to visit our best man and his wife - a nice day of BBQ and friends. the best man's Mom has taken seriously ill and demands round the clock care by her aide AND her sons! so our best man tells us sadly that he cannot commit to the honor bestowed upon him. it definitely wouldn't be fair to us. JJ and I completely understand but we are crushed as we had so wanted them to be there. gladly, they will be able to come to our luncheon as they can arrange care for his Mom for that day.

so that leaves us this morning with NO best man and a spare room at the Inn - which works out in favor of our oldest. I am keeping both room arrangement plans until the last possible moment as events do occur and changes happen. and JJ now has to decide on a new best man - I'll let you know what happens

but it's just amazing how these things come out of left field!!

Michelle sorry this happened to you. It's amazing how you plan and plan and things just pop up to but a damper on them. Like everyone told me. Hopefully all of the drama will happen before the wedding means the wedding will be wonderful. It happened for me so I'm sure yours will be even more amazing.

Aww Michelle- that sucks! I know everything will work out OK in the end. You are such a positive optimistic lady! You will have the perfect day, cuz you deserve it! An extra room at the Inn means some of us Disers can come now, right??

Things will turn around, and it sounds like you're handling everything with grace and elegance! Can your DF find a stand-in for BM??

he's mulling over a replacement now. his original best man is someone he grew up and he was a natural choice. it just brings to light more that JJ's son is not here to take his rightful place. but I'm sure we'll come up with the right answer - he is seriously thinking of asking his only nephew to have the honor as I have asked JJ's only brother to walk me down the aisle....and my daughter is the MOH

oh, you guys are WAY too sweet!! we actually have 4 children between us the oldest is 30, my daughter is 23, JJ's son was 22 and the youngest is 20 .....

yup, and you all will look this good ( probably better!!) when you get to be my age!

lol...it's amazing what some hair color can do!!! heartfelt thanks for the lovely compliment - trust me, up close, I can tell I'm aging!!! remember , today's 50 is the past's 35 so just think how awesome you will look at my age!

aaaw, Sharon, so good to "see" you! I believe there is an upside to almost everything....and I don't even want to think about the week before the wedding! lol......how's the planning coming on your end?
