Boy attacked by wild dogs

That is HORRIBLE. I can not even imagine recovering from that without some long term emotional issues - or at the very least being terrified of dogs.

How terrifying.:guilty: He's very lucky to be alive with that many dogs involved.

How horrible!!

Pits should be ILLEGAL to breed or own.

How terrifying that must have been! I know Bob Barker's signature phrase is corny, but please take care of your pet, and if it goes outside unattended, please have it spayed or neutered. paw:

Unbeleivable!:sad2: Poor kid and his 2nd attack in his life!

Wow...I'm from the Chicagoland area and I sort of remember hearing a news report a couple of years ago about wild dogs attacking someone (a jogger maybe?) at a Cook County (the county Chicago is in) forest preserve. I think people were just dumping unwanted, probably agressive dogs there.

Okay...I just found a news link. A woman was actually killed by one of the dogs while jogging. http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=News&id=160453

The article said that the dogs were "mixed-breed pit bulls" The media pretty much describes any mixed breed dog involved in an incident like this as a pit bull which is utterly ridiculous. True pit bulls are wonderful dogs and are NOT people-aggressive at all. Any group of dogs can be dangerous in a pack.

That poor kid. I can't believe he was still so smiley in that interview. It made me imagine him to be a real sweetheart.

We used to have a wild dog problem around here. You'd drive down the highway and see them in the hills (all different kinds of breeds). Then our county started organizing "coyote hunts," but I've always suspected the coyote hunts were really dog hunts.

Can't wild dogs be caught and re-civilized? (not that the dogs who attacked the boy should be re-civilized, but I just mean in general)

I went to school with her daughter. That was so sad.

How terrifying. Sounds like he did exactly what he should have to save his life, glad to hear he is being released from the hospital. Lucky young man.

I think it should be illegal to breed any cats or dogs unless they are pure-bred and only by licensed and regulated breeders. Otherwise, there should be stiff penalties for owning an unaltered adult cat or dog. Even indoor only animals. JMHO
