We have never done photo Christmas cards, but my son got a puppy for his birthday, and well, they are just too cute together.

Is there anywhere you can get a holiday photo taken of someone with their pet?

Thank you!

Call a local photographer's studio. I know Petco takes portraits of pets but I'mnot sure if they allow humans

I would check with your local photographers/photography studios. There are a couple of them in my area that offer "Family Days" or "Pet Days" this time of year, where they offer photo shoots of this kind at a discount. I'm sure that it'd still be more expensive than a department store photo studio, but I'm not sure of any that do pet photos. You could also check with Petco or PetSmart.

Hope that helps!

I know the picture people at my mall allows animals!

You could take one as well-just upload the pictures to Target, Walgreens or wherever and make the cards online-they are done in an hour :thumbsup2

I think most independent professional photographers would do it. (I got my senior portraits taken with my cat.) I know some chain stores will do it, too. In our area Picture People, Flash photography, and Celebrity Kids will all allow photos with pets.

Some of my favorite pictures are the candid shots though. If you've got a decent camera and capture a good photo yourself, you could always have that made into a card. You can do it on many online photo sites and there are lots of card makers on Etsy and eBay as well.

Personally, this is what I would do.

But, a local photographer or a pet photographer would be able to do it as well!

JCPenney did it for me. I wanted my DD (then 7) and her kitten. I called and asked and they told me yes, they would do it, but only the last appointment of the day. We had no issues and got some really cute pictures.

Another thought: my local PetCo regularly does 'doggie portraits'. You might have some luck getting your son and the dog photographed together there, or you might find out the name of the photographer from teh staff at Petco, and contact the photographer directly.

What a cute idea for a Christmas card!:) I know Picture People will do sessions with people and pets.
