Bows on your Christmas gifts?

I try to make every single present beautiful. I'm a good sale shopper. This Thanksgiving Weekend, Michaels had all their Christmas ribbon for 70% off...I can justify the beautiful wide, wired ribbon when it's refuced from $5.99 a roll to $1.79 a roll!

Bows on all of my presents. I angle them under the tree so they don't squish. The kids love helping pick out the bow and dd really got into doing the curling ribbon this year. My favorite is the wire edged fabric ribbon. Makes the gift look awesome! My cats sit under the tree with the gifts, but they don't bother them.

I put ribbon bows on just enough gifts for the cat to play with. He is very good with the tree, just naps underneath it. But he likes to play with the ribbons. Sometimes I just throw a few ribbon bows out on the floor to amuse him!

Bows, ribbons, different methods of tying, little ornaments or such......I like to mix it up and make every package look wonderful.

Always :thumbsup2! I love to do fancy bows, wide wire ribbon, shiny cord, tulle, and cute asst. c'massy trinkets on packages....even on gift bags :goodvibes. No present gets a bow till our C'mas eve party ~ with everyone home this year we'll host for 20-25 people, so by the time the kids, IL's, and grands, bring their gifts, it's a sight to behold and truly present w/bow heaven!!!

I used to do this too.. I would spend over an hour wrapping one gift - LOL.. There was the year I used red and green tissue paper - covered with two layers of white tissue paper - then used Christmas stencils and fine tip markers to color scenes on all the packages.. People claimed they were too pretty to "wreck" by unwrapping them.. So then I did something different - two colors of heavy foil paper (the package was half and half), then decorated with curling ribbon and trinkets.. Same complaint.. Okay - let's go with brown paper bag paper (plain and plaid) and decorate it with raffia.. You got it - they didn't want to open them.. LOL.. Every year I continued to do "something" - until I moved in with my DD and her bow-loving cats..(One is deceased now..) I still try to make them look as festive as possible, but bows are out.. Waaaaaa...:(

C. Ann, I just have to say I love your Christmas questions.:goodvibes

Thanks.. I'll try to come up with a few more.. Just trying to keep things light-hearted and happy here - less stress and more "fun" holiday stuff..:santa:

I must have a cat that could care less about Christmas. Other than the initial exploration of the tree, she hasn't bothered it and it's been up for a month now. Not a single ornament has been knocked off, nor a branch climbed on. The only thing she uses it for is to take naps on the tree skirt. Same with bows, there have been gifts under the tree for the last few days and not a single bow has been messed with. I must have a scrooge kitty..LOL

This is the way my old cat was.. No problems with tinsel, no problems with bows.. As long as I allowed him to take his naps under the tree, that was good enough for him..:santa:

Got any photos you could share? I'd love to see them..:santa:

Only on Santa's gift to DS and the gifts that leave the house. On the ones that leave, I don't add the bows until we get to the new location. The bows have a tendency to pop off otherwise...
