Okay, now that the minor bowl games are thankfully behind us (although I must admit that the "1st Annual Salad Shooter Floobe Memorial QVC Bowl" between Texas Southern North Western Campus at Marshall Community College and the Univeristy of Pheonix #132 was just about as an exciting a game as I've ever seen. . 
) I think it's time to make some predictions on the big bowl games. . 
You can just pick the winners or against the offical Las Vegas point "spread". . .(i.e. Texas is favored over LSU by 10 points. . you can take LSU and if even if they lose by 9 or less points, you'd win the bet) and the person with the most right get's absolutely nothing except the satisfaction of being smarter then the rest of us. .
Cotton Bowl- Texas vs. LSU; Texas favored by 10 points. . . Two teams who underachieved this year. . . Chris Sims is great when the game doesn't mean anything. My prediction: Texas 35, LSU 24.
Outback Bowl- Florida vs. Michigan; Florida favored by 1 1/2 points. . . So far in the post-season, the Big 10 has looked a little stronger then they were given credit for in the regular season. . My prediction: Rex Grossman takes a beating and wonders why he didn't turn pro last year. . Michigan 25, Florida 17.
Gator Bowl- Notre Dame vs. North Carolina State; Notre Dame favored by 1 point. . Strangest point spread of all the bowls; ACC is a weak conference, and Notre Dame has better players and is better coached. . my prediction: ND 43, NC State 21
Capitol One Bowl- Penn State vs. Auburn; Penn St. favored by 5 1/2 points. . . Remember when playing on New Years Day actually meant something? I do.. . 2 teams playing in a credit card bowl that should be playing in Shrevepot on the day before Christmas instead.. . only compelling reason to watch is to see if Papa Joe attacks the refs. . . my prediction: who cares? But I'll say Penn St. 35, Auburn 24
Rose Bowl- Oklahoma vs Washington State; Oklahoma favored by 6 points.. . I've watched the Sooners all year and they look like the greatest team ever at home and like a bunch of scrubs on the road. . . but the Pac-10 has proved to be extremely over-rated so far in the bowls. . . my prediction: Oklahoma 38, WSU 21
Sugar Bowl- Georgia vs Florida St. ; Georgia favored by 7 1/2 points. . That Florida State is even in a BCS bowl shows waht a mess the system is.. Bobby Bowden has lost control of his program, and he should join Andy Rooney in the old folks home. . the Bulldogs had one bad game this year, but they are the real deal, and this shouldn't be close. . my prediction: Georgia 49, FSU 10
Orange Bowl- USC vs. Iowa; USC favored by 6 1/2. . . On paper, the best match-up of all the bowl games. . 2 very hot teams that have looked very impressive since early season losses. . . Iowa is hot, but the Trojans are hotter, and they overcome the bad karma of letting O..J. hang out with the team . . my prediction: USC 49, Iowa 21
Fiesta Bowl- Miami vs Ohio State for the National Championship; Miam favored by 12 1/2 points. . Very difficult game to figure from a gambling perspective- Miami isn't as dominant as last year, and Ohio State is better then they've been given credit for. . . but they could still play the Huricanes tough and lose by 2 touchdowns. Just a gut feeling, but unless Miami comes out smoking early and buries them, I think Ohio State will stay close and find a way to pull the big upset. . . my prediction: Ohio State 20, Miami 17
