I've heard they bow alot at Teppan Edo, stupid question but should we bow back????

That is up to you,I always feel when in Rome do as the Romans do within reason, but If you were in Japan and did not bow back it would be an insult just think if you were greeting(waving etc) and that person did not greet you back, you can do it, but you dont have to keep doing it, once it is done to you just simply bow back, you dont have to be bending over all night:rotfl2:

I agree up to you! When we travel to Asia we bow but at Epcot I just smile back or say thank you, whatever the situation calls for.

1) If they bow first, bow as low as they do, keeping eye contact.
2) If you bow first, they should bow lower than you.
3) The superior person (or customer) receives the deeper bow.
4) If in doubt, a head nod is sufficient from foreigners.

NOTE: Bows go from a head nod to a 45º bow, and even to kneeling.

An appropiate bow would in this case would be about a 15 degree bend in the back.

Men keep there hands flat to their side, while women cross their hands in front of them at the waist while bowing.

I never would have thought to bow back until we traveled to Korea to adopt my son. I was so thankful to the country and their generous people that I wanted to be as respectful as possible. Now, wherever I am, I find myself bowing back if someone bows to me. I'm not always sure of the etiquette, but the respect usually comes from my heart :) .
