it is a 2-fold thing - one to get it out of the way and not have to think about it on the cruise and second is because on the Disney Visa you only get the 6 months no interest if it is charged BEFORE the cruise so I try to put as much ahead on it - including putting money on as an OBC for excursions and spa treatments.

I didn't know that sort of stuff let's you get the 6 months no interest. I've prepaid my tips back in February. I have my Disney rewards gift card that I'm going to use as OBC - should pay for excursions plus a bit more. I may have my TA charge some OBC on my Visa. Sure wish Disney had put my refund (from 11 to 12) as an OBC instead of refunding my Visa.

I just want to point out that the basketball court is flat and not very good for a large group photo. People will get lost after the second row. Good places for large groups to be photographed have some sort of incline ... such as steps. The best outdoor venue on the Magic is the stage at the Goofy Pool. It also gives you the best natural light. The most used indoor place is the atrium with Mickey. I prefer the stage area for the light.

The basketball court shot is for the group of cougars - not for the entire group. We want the cougar's to look like we are in a cage.

things I did today:

Called DCL and:

Ordered my case of water
Put my min. tips on my account
bought the birthday celebration package for when we get on the cruise (his birthday is the day before)
and pre-purchased a picture package
2 one day passes to the rainforest


that covers about 1/2 of my on board charges I will have - will do the rest next week before we leave.

And THAT is EXACTLY why I love the DIS and seeing everyone else's list!

Haven't called the Ccards yet, good reminder.

Also I had no idea about precharging and it would fall under the 6mos free financing. I charged things on my Disney Rewards Visa while cruising last time and it skrewed my whole account up and I ended up just having to pay off the whole thing to straighten it out. I thought those charges would be delayed six months as well. Good thing I already had all the funds set aside. Makes me a little leary to try this again but it sounds like you've done this before Krisann? So as long as I charge them before we sail (prior to 4/10 I am guessing?) they would fall under the 6 months delayed payment thing? I do love using other peoples money! But have to admit this Disney Visa is a love/hate relationship for me. I do not love dealing with Chase customer service, they are clueless. They all need to be required to attend Disboard informational classes or something!

First of all - breathe it'll all be ok and you will get to the ship on time.


Second - love your thinking - I do the same. I also do this with socks. Save the icky ones I would toss for travel. Socks take up more room than you'd imagine. I'm even thinking of bringing some t-shirts I'm tired of and tossing them when the cruise is over.

I do not wear sneakers and will not bring any with me (sandals all the way baby). I am also quite warm natured usually. Still wondering if I need my jacket or long pants! [/COLOR]

I'm not sure I'm thinking just at dinner though if I'm going to be swimming or going to the spa as there's no point in wearing it for those things. If I'm not doing those things I'll probably wear it during the day. I will wear it when we're in port except Castaway Cay.

I'll just be wearing it a dinner. Except for mascara. I have translucent eyelashes. When I foget to put it on everyone asks me if I'm sick and inform me that I don't look well. (with frineds like those who needs enemies!) I'm thinking I dye my eyelashes if I have time so you people won't think I'm going to pass out or something!

To start this wonderful day I have an ultrasound of my kidneys and adrenals @ 2pm.

My boys are being released from school now. My children DO NOT go to a school where they do this on a whim. We have gotten 12+ inches of rain this month so far and it is POURING now.

I have waaaay tooo much to do to deal with all these cancelations, states of emergency and road closures (they are closing a short span of 95!!).

Same here Heather. A lil bit of lip gloss and mascara is all during the day usually.

At Dinner and shore excursions only. If we are planning on working out, swimming etc, it will just come off anyway. Besided it's vacation. I have to wear it 6-7 days a week regularly.

I just found mine from the last cruise that I plan on using over .... that's the good news! The bad news is that I was looking for my FE when I found the magnets and I still have not found the FE!

Now I guess I'll have to make another one.

Euros and Pounds ordered. I did not get nearly the rates that some of you have cited though. Went to AAA and called some banks locally. AAA was competitive with the banks, but we got 1.43 on Euros and 1.59 for the pounds. Must be the not-so-metropolitan aspect of Raleigh, NC or something. Oh well, that is one thing off the list at least!

Unless you are exchanging large amounts, I wouldn't worry about getting the best rates.

I think it's more important to have some local currency in advance, so when you get off the ship, you can hit the ground running.

OK-- Totally OFF TOPIC... but...

I am the PTA Treasurer for my son's school also the Box Tops for Education Coordinator (plus I chair about a million different committees-- I'm sure all the other PTA Moms here understand what I mean!)

Anyway, I am asking all of you who are childless (or no longer have school age children) for your help. My son's class is in a neck & neck battle with another class in the Box Tops collection (winning class gets a pizza party in June)... If you wouldn't mind saving Box Tops for his class for the next 12 days or so & bring them to us on the ship, it would be greatly appreciated!!!
