You know I was just thinking (and maybe I don't understand the tour thing completely so this could sound totally stupid but...) anyway what about doing it on two different days. Maybe half one day and half another. That way people aren't overwhelmed with seeing 15 different cabins. And the people that are showing cabins can get a chance to see some as well.:confused3

CLUE for TRIVIA QUESTION

Question: What do YOU think is the most technologically advanced area / object / device / area / *thing* on the Disney Magic?

CLUES:
1) Is is not a human being
2) It never leaves the ship, not even during dry-dock
3) It is ALSO on the Disney Wonder
4) It has been on the Disney Magic since it's 1998 Inaugural Cruise
5) It is NOT located on Deck 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10
6) There is only ONE on each ship.

MAJOR clue to be posted 3/17!
========================
3/16/10: Here are the guesses submitted so far ... pay CLOSE attention to my responses (in red) to the previously posted guesses :confused3

1) I would think something on the bridge or engine room but that is to obvious. Sorry, guess again
2) Hmmm i think the computer game where you can be at the bridge in the kids club. Sorry, guess again
3) this is a guess...but I had a tour of the bridge and the navigation/auto pilot system that guided the boat was pretty darn impressive. Sorry, guess again
4) ... maybe it is a conveyor belt in the kitchen or the plumbing for all I know
5) I'm going to guess that it's the water filtration system - to turn seawater into drinking water? Sorry, guess again
6) My husband's guess is that it's something to do with the productions onboard - the stage or lighting. Stage or lighting? Sorry, guess again
7) I would have to think one of the shows/theaters. NO COMMENT (hint, hint)
8) I am going to guess the stabilizers? Sorry, guess again
9) Is it the stage that rotates and goes up and down? Sorry, guess again
10) Is it the 3d theater? Sorry, guess again

Experienced DCL cruisers ... feel free to post as well!

Okay, I'm convinced I won't be the only adult wearing a big poofy princess dress. I'm definetely bringing by royal blue poofy gown and my less poofy periwinkle dress for the two formal nights. Now I have no idea what to bring for semi-formal night. I'm tempted to bring my other formal dress which is a navy color. It's still formal, but less "dramatic". I might be "overdressed", but I'll look fabulous. Then I have to think about what to bring for the night at Palo..... I love my formal dresses, and I only get to wear them on cruises. So it is hard to narrow down the choices, and I haven't even gone shopping yet.

So I might be wearing formalwear every night at this rate!

Melissa

Hey, we can be overdressed together!

It is a Mac - regular, not laptop, but I bought the Microsoft Word, Excel, program for word processing, spreadsheets.

I really should look and see what else might be built in. :goodvibes

My DH is a Mac Tech and we run an all Mac household. As far as I know you can do some light photo editing (cropping, redeye, etc.) in iPhoto, but there aren't any graphics programs in the iLife package.

I am going to have to pick up a copy of Photoshop Elements. Thanks for the suggestion Brack & dylan'smom!

We only did this once before, on a sea day on the MAGIC. We had ALL categories represented, from The Roy suite to a 12, including a "sideways" 11. It was very enjoyable, and people could decide ( I took notes / photos - I'll stay ANYWHERE onboard)) what categories/locations they would be happy with in the future. Everyone ("hosts" as well as "looky-loos" met at the first stateroom. We started on Deck 2, and went up from there, with a little zig-zag - if we were aft on a deck, and there was a forward cabin on that deck but the next deck also had an aft, we went up first, THEN forward, to minimize the longer forward-aft trek. I recall we had about 25 people, including one in a wheelchair, and we accomplished it all in under 2 hours. Of course, the Cat. 12 took about 3.5 minutes, and the Roy suite took 20:) But, we DO have a good number of sea days, and we'll probably have a larger number of tour-goers, so splitting it is probably a good idea. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but once we have all the cabin #s available, I'll volunteer to lay out a route. Y'all can decide days/times - that's all we'll need in the Mini-Nav, I can do a phone call with the starting cabin # like sdLong is doing for the Tastings (Steve - remember, ALL 4, or however many there are, for me:woohoo:)

Don't laugh - MS Word 2004 - no graphics program, just word processing. One day I'm going to discover that I had a graphics program built into this computer and I will be very sad that I fought with that Word program trying to align stuff.

Really MS Word! I think I'm good on the computer but I can't seem to design anything close to you.:worship:

Ok since I seem to be getting warmer with my guess...Is it the 3d theater?

I am getting a bit concerned about the packing, what with formal wear, princess/pirate, swim wear, cool weather gear....not sure how we're going to get it all there, or else I'll need to get a 2nd job to pay all the baggage fees!!

Dh really wants me to watch what I pack. He called one of our bags last time a Mini Mart. :rotfl:

We have a group going with Daniel, too. We are going for a 4 hour tour with 7 of us. I have read good things about him. I'm going to email them soon to make sure we're still good to go. She said that we could have our driver drop us off in 2 different places if some want to stay for the parade at 4 pm.

We have the exact plan. 4 hours for 7 of us. I liked that they can customize the tour. I wanted to see the sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima up on the cliffs and they said they could take us there. Not sure if she's still there?

So I might be wearing formalwear every night at this rate!
This is the perfect opportunity to dress like a princess: every night! Have fun!

Get Adobe Photoshop Elements

I love PSE.

I'll ask dh and get back to you. :)

o.k. we can go back to the trip talk :sail:
T:donald:

Congrats! :cheer2:

Still need to:
-book rental car or shuttle from MCO to port
-get euros
-find travel wallets that hang around neck and under clothes. We have them somewhere.
-make list of things to pack
-make magnets for door
-figure out what I'm wearing. The girls have been set for months.
-do my online registration
-order 2 more rolling duffles. :sad2:
-make list of all the things I want to see in each port
-figure out where I want to eat tapas in Barcelona
-put all confirmations for private tours in pdfs and have dh put them in his google docs.
-get/make (scrapbook) journals for girls to write in on cruise.
-find a cool book about star gazing when crossing Atlantic.

Just thinking out loud...but thought it may help someone else who is still knee deep in planning.

... I am wanting to make some magnets for our door on the cruise. Can I use any of the graphics within people's posts without any copyright problems? Like yours with your name on it (I would take your name off, though!). I just want to make sure before I step on any toes.

:confused3

And if you want a version without my name on it, just let me know. I was going to say look at the Graphics page of the website or my photobucket account, but I think those always ended up having a name on them (after saving Word file to iPhoto).

So glad that Ken has already experienced a tour. I had thought it was more open house for a set amount of time (perhaps an hour), so it would be people dropping in randomly. That didn't allow the hosts the opportunity to view the other categories, though (I had been asked about this).

Most of the graphics are available on the DISBoards and other websites. :surfweb: As long as you are not using the file to make money and you ask the person then it is usually not a problem.

:grouphug:

I'll share anything that I have with you. Let me know if there is anything in particular you are looking for.

Can I use the one in your signature - with DH and my names, of course?

Where is the "Graphics" page?? Please!

Well, here is my guess....is it the Animator's Palette wall show?

Well, here is my guess....is it the Animator's Palette wall show?

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER - RBCHEEK, who correctly guessed ANIMATOR'S PALETTE!

The next clues were going to be ...

- Cast members AND guests have access to IT.
- IT is above the water.
- You can touch IT.
- IT is referenced on your KTTW card.
- You can STAND or WALK there, but you cannot run THERE (that would be a confusing clue - basically, like a teacher saying, "no running indoors").

Okay, we have a SWELL prize for the winner ... CAN YOU GUESS WHAT IT IS?
1) It has the same colors as a watermelon (pinkish and green)
2) It fits around your neck
3) It attaches a clear pouch, which holds your KTTW card, and nametag.

====================

Okay, who can think of another Disney or DCL TIDBIT, to be used as a Trivia Q?

If we did it this way I would probably be willing to open up my Cat 6. I didn't want to miss out on seeing the other rooms which is why I wasn't saying we could see my room.
