We were originally scheduled on the Sept 17 '06 four night Wonder. Since that cruise has now been changed to an 11 night, what can I expect to happen to our reservations? Obviously, I understand that we will be given other four night cruise dates to choose from, but will there be other compensation offered? TIA

:earseek: I had no clue they could "bounce" people off a cruise!

I was wondering about this. I couldn't imagine they had left 3 weeks unscheduled next fall and no one here noticed. :rotfl: I hope they offer you something. :wizard:

Almost all major cruise lines offer you an incentive in a circumstance like this. I bet your next post will be an excited one telling us what a great deal they gave you on your rescheduled cruise. Hang in there and they'll come through for you. :sunny:

 I knew something was up with those dates when they removed them from the website. It's funny because I had to change some of my information for my cruise docs with my TA and when she sent me the new papers, it had the following itinerary: Port, sea, sea, St Thomas, St Lucia. I immediately called my TA and questioned this and she said she called Disney and it was an error. I guess it wasn't an error. I don't know if she honestly wasn't informed, or that she just hadn't filled us in with options yet. Very confusing! :confused3

Thanks Cheryl!!

DCL once changed our itinerary, and offered a very handsome discount off a future cruise. It more than made up for the initial disappointment.

I am lctmom's son. So now Does that mean that they have permanently canceled the September 17, 2006 Cruise?

As a 4 day yes....it is now an 11 day southern caribbean cruise.

We booked a 4 night Magic back in 99 I think, maybe 00 but anyway, we got a letter giving us the option of going on the Wonder- which we had already done or going on the new 7 night Magic! No incentive but was I ever excited that DCL had added a 7 night that we just stayed on the Magic and changed our 4 to a 7 night. Your situation was a tad different though- there isn't another DCL ship for you to choose from. Good luck and I sure wish we could do this cruise. The price is GREAT, if there just wasn't school!

Maybe they will give an AWESOME rate for that 11 night cruise!!!!

I certainly hope they offer you, as well as anyone previously booked, a GReat incentive, you deserve this, as we plan ahead of time... :wizard: to you..

I want to add my thought here. I bet Disney will let your family cruise on the 11 day for the same rate you are paying for the 4 day. If that does not work for you I am sure they will move it to another four day.
Back in Dec of 2001 we had booked a 3 day land & 4 day cruise for Dec 17-25 of 2003. Some time around end of 2002 I recived a phone call from Disney they had just figured out that we would be getting off the ship on Christmas and they wanted to change us because they did not want people to have to get off the ship during Christmas day. She first gave me some dates weeks before and weeks after. I told her I choose that time because my DD is out of School from the 18-Jan 2nd. She said well you could go on the new dates and you would be on the ship for Christmas same room number. No change in price. I felt I went during a more costly time. The Rates were about $600.00 higher the week following the date I choose in the first place that is why I was going on Cruise the four days I was. So I hope it all works out well for you. I bet they have you on the 11 day in the same room as your four day. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I am hopeing for the best.

I just checked my reservation at the DCL website, for curiosity. It still shows us on a four night Bahamian cruise on September 17, 2006. The funny thing is, the ports are listed as: Day 1: Port Canaveral; Day 2: Sea; Day 3: Sea, Day 4: St Thomas/St John; Day 5: St Lucia.

Funny, that's not four nights (unless I am going to end up living in St Lucia :earseek: ), nor does it travel to the Bahamas. I can't wait to hear what my TA says about all of this! :rolleyes1

Mommasita, you are not out of line at all. I appreciate everyone's input since I am really new at all of this!

I haven't heard a word from my TA. In fact, I emailed HER last night with the info that I found here. I don't think she works weekends so I have not heard back. What I find the oddest about this whole thing, is that I just got docs from her on JULY 16 that already had those southern Caribbean ports listed. She told me it was a Disney error - but was it?!? I am sure this cruise must have been in the works at that time since those ports were listed then, and they are the ports that the 11 day cruise is sailing to!

In her defense (I am trying to be fair because I really have no idea about all of this), I met someone else here on the DIS who is booked on the same cruise. He also contacted his TA and was told that they had not heard anything about an eleven day cruise replacing ours.

:confused3

Would you be able to do the 11 day ,??

If it was offered to you at the same priice ??

Would be great to Meet you on board..

Peter, personally, I'd LOVE to take that 11 day cruise - and get to meet you! We are a party of 10, two families traveling together. There's lots to take into consideration but we'd definitely give it some serious thought!

Now if only we'd get the offer :goodvibes
