Bounceback offer expired in room

We stayed at POP 8/16-8/21, the bounceback offer in our room was room only discount. I tried booking the night before we left, but were told on the ressie line that it was expired. I asked that since it was specifically put in our room and had no expiration date, would it be possible to use it anyway and the answer was No. The next AM before checking out I asked a manager about the bounceback offer and he said he had to make a call about it. He was on the phone for about 20 minutes 'trying to find out' about the bounceback offer and if they would extend the previous offer to me or the new offer (which he supposedly was unfamiliar with). My kids got anxious to leave the line so he told me to stop back before leaving the resort to see if he had any answers. About 45 minutes later I came back and couldnt find him. We had to leave at that point. After getting home and reading on the DIS that the offer that was current was free dining for next year, I am really annoyed. Why couldnt they just tell me what the current bounceback was? Is the offer room specific? Why was the offer so secretive, because it was obvious that others staying were getting that 'current' offer, but nobody could tell me what it was. Im also annoyed that they would not honor the bounceback I had that had no expiration date. If they told me about the new bounceback, I would have rebooked at that point! Has anybody ever had this type of experience? Were they able to secure the bounceback at a later point because they 'fell through the cracks'?

Last month my family and I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn from August 17th - August 31st and the room had the same room only Bounceback offer. Now earlier this month on September 1st we switched back to the Boardwalk Inn because we hated the Beach Club and were lucky enough to get the exact same room we previously had. Well this time on the table by the beds was the Bounceback offer for Free Dining, so in the 24 hours we weren't at the Boardwalk Inn the Housekeeper put in the new Bounceback offer and it mentioned Free Dining.

we stayed at the GF from 8/19 to 8/26. There was also a bounceback card in our room which said to see the front desk for help. Well, the front desk didn't know anything about it. We were going to make another trip too... well still waiting for a room only discount to appear for may

Always call 8844 from your room and ask what the current bounceback offer is. If they don't know then hang up and call again. Rinse and repeat. Unless there isn't a bounceback offer, this will work. Over the past several years, there's only been a few month period of time where there wasn't some kind of bounceback available and that short time period had general public discounts available at that time for most of the following year so bouncebacks weren't necessary.

The flyer in your room is not guaranteed to be the current bounceback offer. It was the offer on the day you arrived but things can change unfortunately. December 2009 when we were there I called from my room to book the offer that I had in my hands and bouncebacks had been cancelled completely. There wasn't a current offer but as I said before, there were general public discounts available for most of the following year so a bounceback wasn't necessary. I really wanted the room discount that had been available via BB but they just couldn't make it happen for me.

No matter the reason why you didn't book, I don't think you'll find a CM who can enter the BB booking for you. You can certainly phone and try a few times and even ask for a manager or Guest Services to see if they can do it because you never know if they can make magic happen, but don't be too disappointed if they can't.

Has anyone ever received the bounceback offer by email? After I came home from our June trip @ CSR, I noticed that I received a bounceback offer in my email. But you had to book before you checked out. I understand that some people travel with their laptops, but this seemed totally ridiculous to me. I didn't try to use it after the fact, but I kind of wish I had just to see if they would have let me.

We called this extension before we checked out of AKV on 9/4/11 and the agent told me if there was not an offer in the room (which there was not) then to ask housekeeping because they are the ones that put them there...I asked housekeeping and they told me to ask the front desk...the front desk said there were no bb offers at this time being offered to guests at AKV :confused3 I should have called the extension again but time was against us and we needed to get to the airport. I did however call when I got home and the agent said very politely that I HAD to make the new ressie for the bb offer before I checked out...even after I told him about my experience as to what I did to obtain a bb offer before I left, he just did not want to hear it. Oh well, it was worth a shot anyway. Now just waiting patiently for a room only code for next year...

after reading this, I am going to call on the first day I arrive to see if there are BB offers or not :confused3

We never receved a flyer, but DH called and they gave it to us without any hassle (without a code.) We were able to book free dining for next August - last two weeks again. We will have to pay for the upgrade from QS plan which was higher for next year but the current public offer only allowed booking through March, I believe.

We were there last December during that time when there was no bounceback available at all. I disagree that it was unnecessary at that time. The big year full of discounts open to the GP only went up throuth the end of September (keep in mind we were traveling in December) the following year and we don't do Disney in the heat. For the first time EVER, I was ready to plunk down the cash for a discount and was pretty perturbed they didn't have anything during our timeframe.

That's just so wrong. Next time, say thank you, hang up and call again. If you're ever told that your offer is subject to having a flyer or anything else housekeeping does then the CM is flat out wrong. If you're ever told that bouncebacks are only available to guests of specific resorts then the CM is flat out wrong. They may place different flyers in rooms based on your current resort because they're targetting different promotions towards different guests but all guests staying at a WDW resort are eligible for any bounceback offer they currently have open.

Go ahead and call when you arrive. If you don't like the offer, try again on your departure day. Depending on the timing of your trip, there could be a different bounceback offer by the end of your trip.

Bouncebacks won't necessarily cover the dates you want. Most trips we take it seems as though the bounceback offer isn't for a time we're interested in or has blackout dates for exactly when we want to go next. When I say that it wasn't necessary because of the public discounts already available I meant that Disney was already offering deals for the dates for which they would have had a bounceback offer. Have they in past years in December offered a bounceback that includes the following December? We've only travelled in December once and that was the time I was referring to where there wasn't a bounceback offer at all.

Last month when I was at the Boardwalk Inn the room only Bounceback offer dates for December 2011 was only from the 11th - 17th, which wasn't good for us and not as long compared to the dates offered for December 2010. Now thankfully we were able to reserve the room only Annual Pass rates which goes from Oct 3rd - Dec 24th, 2011.

I just came back and asked about a bounce back offer. there was not any left! We booked for next sept anyway hoping for free dining or kids stay and play free! Taking grand-daughters!!

Was at CSR for 2 weeks 8/27 - 9/10 and never got a BB flyer in my room, but I did call 8844 on 9/2 and booked a FD BB for the same time next year. Was never asked if there was a flyer in the room or if I had a code.

That's weird you were never asked to at least give the code for the Free Dining Bounceback offer. Last month when we called 8844 from our room to make our December 2011 reservation the Cast Member asked for our current confirmation number and we needed to say the code for the Annual Pass room only rates.

We weren't asked out any kind of code or confirmation number. We were asked for the name under which our current reservation was booked and what resort so I guess they just looked up our reservation and got all the information that way. I honestly didn't know the code for our reservation so I wouldn't have been able to give that if they needed it.

We were at tbe Beach Club from 8/23-8/29. When we first entered our room the Bounceback Clock was there but the dates were only through December 2011.

On our last day I asked the Concierge folks (we were on the Club Level) and they knew nothing about it. I then went down to the front desk and they were great. The person there handed me the phone after he called over. I was on hold for quite a bit but once someone picked up I received an offer of Free Dining for August 17th through some time in September. I booked it for 8/19-8/26 2012. Ended up being almost identical in price to what I paid this year and the slight increase is due to my daughter being 10 for next years trip.

I'm glad I asked because when I got him I priced it out on the Disney website and it was $1,500 more for a rack rate.
