I booked the bounceback free dining back in December. I booked the last week of the promo for 7 nights at POFQ. At the time, we were told to just pick a resort and we could change any dates or hotels later. I just called to change the hotel over to Wilderness Lodge and there is nothing available. OK so I say check another, and another, then I just had him check every resort and they are all booked for that promo. Fine, I'll change my dates. Sorry, not a single room is open on any dates for that promo to book too!! Bounceback MUST have been a HUGE success since I can't change a single thing on my reservation for Sept-October 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did call back another day and got all the same answers, just to make sure the first CM wasn't looking it up right.

I have found that if you try to make a change once the promotion is over all of the resorts will show unavailable. This is because the code they use is no longer valid. In the past they had to switch me to guest services to make the change on my reservation. You might want to call back & ask them check it that way for you.

Amazing that Disers know more than CRO! I bet kcminnie is exactly right. Interested to hear the outcome if OP calls back!

With that plus the 40% off deal, I'm not surprised at all that not much is available for that time frame.

You have to have a CM willing to "work" for your change - I called twice the first time - no rooms available anywhere - then I called back and the CM was very helpful (I loved her) and got her supervisor to make the change from POFQ to WL - but it was a pain and did take a long time so I'm sure some CM's won't try - We are booked the same time 9/29-10/5 at WL:cool1:

If you can call back and see if you can get a helpful CM - it is possible to change - I did it twice actually - originally book POP, then changed to POFQ (in DEC) then just change to WL a couple of weeks ago.

Good luck

OK...Heres the Update!! Thanks SO much KCMinnie!! I did call back and had them call guest services and the change has been made to Wilderness Lodge!!! I am SO happy! This is good to know for future reference.

NayNay80...That is so crazy. We orginally planned on going super cheap at POP, then decided to give POFQ a try, and now we are booked for Wilderness Lodge from 9/29-10/6!! We should have a meet up!!

Now to work on my dining reservations :cool1:

Glade to hear that it worked out. We did the same thing with the 40% deal that expired March 15th. We were originally at POR, but changed to Poly because we figured this might be the only chance for us to stay there since the prices there are normally so high.

Glad it worked out for you. Last year I tried to change resorts for the free dining after the promotion was over. When the CM tried every resort and couldn't find anything she went to a supervisor and they figured it out. My mom had this same problem in Jan with the free water park offer.

When we booked the bounceback special in December, the CM that booked our trip said the promotion was a huge hit and doing very well!

I was told the same thing by the Bounce Back CM at PORS in Dec. He was a very talkative CM who said the Bounce Back program may have bit Disney in the foot becaue they were shocked at how many people knew about it despite not promoting it very much. He said they were surprised at the number of people who made a special overnight trip down there just to book the Bounce Back program and that they were already over the quota they wanted for free dining. He said that due to complaints from both vistors and restaurants the last two years that free dining was going to be severely limited for 2007 and the only way it was going to be offered was via the UK Program and Bounce Back Program. If all the rumors about free dining are true however, it looks like he may have been wrong.

Just more proof that the rank-and-file CMs who answer our calls and chit chat with us face to face don't know any more than anyone else when it comes to corporate decisions...

I could be way off here, but I've read several posts/threads of people booking room reservations for Sept, in hopes of a "free dining" promo to be announced at a later date. Then they just plan on adding the dining bonus to their already existing reservation. So, if disney does not do free dining this Aug/Sept, alot of rooms may suddenly become available. Just keep calling.....rooms open up all the time. Personally, I'm purposely avoiding the mid Aug to late Sept time period to vacation because free dining means a nightmare for those of us trying to make PS's during our stay who don't do free dining.

Good luck.

Hello,
New to the Dis Board, but I'm a Disney veteran.
What's this about Bounceback rates? Never heard of it, and I sure do search for discounts all the time!

Hi granny.....welcome to the DIS :cheer2:
Bounceback was a promotion last year, where during a stay at a wdw resort, you could book for a future visit and get free dining.

i3utterfli82 - so glad you got it changed and wow that is so crazy we both did the exact same thing. What dates are you going to be there? I'm finalizing our ADR list today - can't wait - What type of room did you book at WL? We did a woodsview bunk bed room - Can't first stay at a Deluxe!!!:cool1:  :cool1:  :yay: :yay:

We did just the opposite. Had WL booked with the bounceback and switched it to Pop. I couldn't pass up the cheap prices with the free dining and DD4 is excited about staying at Pop after looking at pictures.

I also had trouble changing rooms. The second CM I spoke with said all the bounceback ressies were frozen in their system and to call back maybe around May to see if I could change resorts. I switched our ressie to a TA who specializes in Disney and she called and changed resorts with no problems. Then I added a day, then I changed weeks, so I think we're set now.

I switced our ressie's about a week ago from POR to BC... it took a few minutes for guest services to do their magic, but they finally got it to go through!
