Bounceback Information and FAQ Thread - 25-35% off BOUNCEBACKS ARE BACK for 2025! Updated 1/31/2025

Do see you any advantage to booking a package versus resort only?
With the BB booked as a package, the deposit is generally less, depending on the resort booked. It’s a $200 deposit for a package and one night room and tax if room only. The package has a 30 day cancellation policy where room only is, starting January 1st, 8 days prior. For a package, you also receive luggage tags and vouchers for free mini golf per person and a few discount coupons. You don’t have to add tickets. I prefer to do a package for the lower deposit (unless a value) and if I have to cancel within 30 days, I’ll instead move the reservation to a later date, then cancel. Not sure why people get so upset or adamant about it. I guess it’s personal preference.

I've only ever booked a package but normally use a TA, for this trip I'm booking myself. Thanks for the clarification!

Is the 2025 BB discount still 35% for studios at DVC resorts? Or is the discount less?

To summarize all the helpful info provided:
  • You can book either a room-only or a package reservation and use the bounceback discount.
  • Package requires $200 deposit and is cancellable up to 30 days before. Full package cost is paid 30 days in advance. You do NOT need to add tickets for it to be a package (it can be a ticketless pcakage)!
  • Room only requires 1 night deposit, and is cancellable up to 8 days before. Rest of room cost is due at checkout.
  • Package comes with some cheapo luggage tags and coupon for mini-golf, and costs about $20 more than if you were to price out the same tickets and room through Disney separately at the time of booking.
  • What works best will depend on the person. If you are already planning to purchase tickets or a dining plan through Disney, or if you think you may want to add tickets through Disney in the future, booking a package makes the most sense, as you will be able to cancel all the components (including tickets) up to 30-days prior to your stay. If you already have an AP / tickets or are planning to purchase tickets at a discount through a 3rd party vendor, it makes sense to purchase room-only due to the better cancellation and payment terms.
  • Phone agents may push for packages even if that is not your preference. You will know when given the cost ($200 deposit instead of 1 night) and the cancellation terms (30 days instead of 8 days). If this is not your preference, ask for the room-only reservation and if that doesn't work, try HUCA (hang up and call again)!

This is fantastic information! One thing, you do not have to buy tickets for it to be considered a package. I did a room only BB package, no tickets, and have the 30 day cancellation policy and the $200 deposit. I will get luggage tags (they are cute but flimsy, baggage handlers will break them on their first use) and vouchers. Don’t really care about that or the 30 day cancellation. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of waiting for a supervisor to approve a BB room only reservation when I called. Love the HUCA method!

Thank you, I will fix.

Also, forgot to mention that if you think you may want to add tickets through the package in the future, might as well book a ticketless package from the start.

Sorry double post
It should be 35% off because it's a Deluxe Villa Resort. However, there may not be availability for the discount. As with all Disney discounts, not all resorts / rooms are available at a discount.

I called back for the second time and got another CM with selective hearing. They are really  really pushing packages. I hung up after being put on hold so she can check my resort-only situation. ☹️
Anyway, I think my BB offer already expired today.

Do the future dates change as the year goes on? We’ll be at WDW in December this year. Might I expect to see early 2026 dates in the bounce back, or would it just be 2025?

I don’t think anyone knows how things will work going forward. Before Covid, the next year’s dates were never included until August/ September. This year they were included starting in May. However, it would be shocking if resort bookings for 2026 are even available to be booked at all in December of 2024. It’s usually several months into the current year before you can book for the following year. The only exception is packages & promotions are available in Europe much earlier than that. All that said… everything is a bit different since before Covid. So who knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Exactly what @focusondisney said. Pre-COVID, we used to be able to predict fairly accurately when new promos were released, but post-COVID, Disney has been releasing discounts in a way that is more aligned to when / what rooms they need to fill. The good news is that the discounts so far post-COVID have come out earlier than what they used to.

Having said that, this is when the post-COVID discounts have come out:
  • For 2024 dates, discounts came out July 2023.
  • For 2025 dates, discounts came out end of April 2024.

There's no guarantee that this is the pattern we will see, but simply based on this, I would expect 2026 dates to come out in Spring 2025.

There's also the question of whether Disney will include any December 2025 discounted dates in the current 2025 promo. The 2020 and 2024 dates excluded most of October and November (all but just a few dates at the end of each of those months), but included many dates in December. The 2025 discount dates do not include any December dates, but like I mentioned, historically, most of December (the first part of the month) has been included (in 2020 and 2024), so it would make sense that they would include some December 2025 dates later this year, depending on how soft bookings are.

Yes after Covid was an issue and everything has changed. But back before 911. BB was already selective. They were offered and then they would randomly skip entire months….. so you really never know. I believe it’s really down to moving their inventory

I keep seeing on this thread that bounce back offers can only be over the phone with changes only over the phone, but I did mine last year online and can still make changes to my upcoming Sept stay which is the 35% bounce back. Is this old and I’ll have to call for next year after my stay? Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

In 30 years of WDW trips, you’re the only person I’ve read that booked a bounceback on line. Can I ask how you were able to do iIt & when you booked it? I booked my BB in early July. This is the flyer from the room & a screen shot of the email I received. You can see the only way to book was to call. We also had stays in December & March. Received the same email & the same flyer was in the room. Were you somehow sent a link?

My reservation shows I have to call to cancel or make changes. No option to do it myself.

Just to note that if you have a Chase Disney Visa Card and you book as a BB package even without tickets or dining than you can get 0% interest for 6 months.

Interesting, I've never seeing that either. Can you share what URL you used?

Very strange, there is no option on line to book the bounce back or make changes to an existing reservation. I have made a few changes to my BB res and I have had to call every time, no option anywhere for me to do any modifications on my own. Are you sure it's not a different offer, there have been a few other 35% discounts? I would be curious to see the link to where you were able to book it. You definitely have to call to book it now.
