Bounce Dryer Bar ???'s

For those that have used the dryer bars, do you think they are as good as the liquid, are they worth the cost, and finally, if you don't like them is the attachment hard to remove from dryer - don't want to mess up my dryer

Tried the bar and didn't like it, so simply removed the bar and left the holder in the dryer. Like you didn't want to mesh up my dryer, so I am afraid to pull it out. Figured I rather have the empty holder than a messed up dryer.

Probably being silly since my Kenmore is an antique - 28 years old and still chugging along

I use the dryer bar and love it. As far as taking the holder out, it holds pretty tight, but after awhile mine did come off and I had to use a new holder.

I tried it twice both times it broke up during the drying cycle into many pieces. The part that sticks to the dryer wall left a sticky resedue.

I tried it and I didn't care for it. My clothes had a lot of static so I went back to the dryer sheets.

Love mine and have been using them for about two years now. The sticky residue from the holder will come off with goo gone or orange clean solvent without leaving any damage to your dryer.

Thanks to all for all the pros and cons. I purchased one basically free with store coupon and manufacturer coupons then decided I'd better get some input from some Dis'ers before ruining my dryer . I usually use Downey liquid in the dispenser and have been happy with that, but will try the bar and let it fall off on it's own and remove the residue with goo gone

I don't really see the purpose of them, because you're not supposed to use fabric softener on towels as it prevents them from absorbing as much liquid. So, you would either need to remove the bar before every load of towels (is that even possible?) or have non-absorbent towels.

Oh no, did it ruin your clothes? Smell? How long did you have it installed before it did that? I'm really hesitant now - seems there are so many varied experiences with it - either very GOOD, or very BAD Oh, I have always used softner on my towels and love it, doesn't seem to affect them to us.

I tried it once, and it broke apart into a million pieces and if I remember, got all over my clothes. Since I didn't want it to happen again, I just stick with the dryer sheets.

I used one in my old dryer when they first came out. Repairman said they are not good for the dryer...don't know why. Mine came out the first time I used it. I use Vinager now and I won't go back to softeners.

I agree, my clothes has so much static. Never had that problem before

I've used one for a couple of years and really like it. I find my clothes can stay in the dryer longer than usual without wrinkling....like if I forget to unload the dryer after it finishes. I don't have any issues with static but we have a humidifier on our furnace. I used to find used dryer sheets all over my upstairs, in pant legs, etc. I like not finding the sheets all over.

When I dry dish towels or cleaning rags I remove the bar but the holder stays in place. I've never tried to remove the holder from the dryer.

A co-worker was using it and kept coming to work with odd stains on her clothes. She finally figured out it was the dryer bar causing them. I guess if the clothes ended up laying across the bar or something. She wasn't happy.

The bar slides out of the holder when I am drying towels, however, I do not find that if I forget to remove it, there are any issues. My towels are still absorbant--much more than if I had used liquid softener or dryer sheets.

I did not like it at all. It does kind of melt a bit and can make some funny dark marks on your clothes. At least they did come off with another washing.

Also did not like that all kinds of lint, threads, etc stuck to the bar. The holder came off pretty easy and did not wreck the dryer.

I also got the bar almost free with coupons but would never buy or even pick one up for free again.

I would not buy another one. I still feel like I need to add a dryer sheet for flannel pjs because they come out with too much static. Haven't tried to remove it yet, but I am sure it will be a pain.

I have one and I will continue to use it until it's gone but I won't be buying another one. My clothes have static in them after drying and I never had that problem with dryer sheets. I do add a dryer sheet to my towels when I'm drying them and just leave the bar in there too. That way, the bar will be used up quicker and the towels loose the static in them.

I have never noticed stains on my clothes from it nor has it melted or cracked and left residue on my clothes or in the dryer.
