I don't know how I missed this, but can someone tell me the details? Is it available to DVC members?

I believe it ended December 31st. You had to make your reservations while stilll in your room for an August/September trip. Not sure about DVC members.

That's correct: The offer ended December 31. I'm sorry I don't remember reading any indication as to whether it was offered to guests staying at DVC resorts on DVC points.

It did end Dec 31. I booked Dec 28 after the Merry Mixer for DVC members when the reservationist at the Beach Club said there were only a couple of dayd left. I guess it was available to me as a DVC member because I was staying at a Disney property (SSR) during the time you could book it. All he asked for was my room key to confirm that I was staying on property and that I had not checked out yet. You do have to book at rack rates at a Disney resort and buy at least a 1 day MYW ticket for each member of your party to get the free dining. I have an annual pass so will save the ticket to apply against something at a later date. It did not apply to any DVC stays on points. He did say that they had a better than expected response and may not have many if any packages to offer to the general public like they did last year.

I booked two rooms for the end of september, but am about 75% sure I will be delaying my trip until December. If I do cancel, can I give the "free dining" slot to someone else who wants to go, or is that impossible?

Call me optimistic, but I think that's sounds promising! Saying that there may not be any packages left to offer to the general public implies that they are indeed thinking of releasing it to the general public!

We booked during our December trip and I was told that the lead passenger had to remain the same in order to keep the free dining. You can change dates, resorts and even other travelers in your party but if the lead passenger cancels, you lose the free dining.
