We are planning a May 2020 trip with 2 adults and a 4 & 5 y/o. We’re going to do a split stay and stay at Beach Club’s DVC studio to focus on Epcot & HS.

I’m having trouble deciding between BLT and Boulder Ridge DVC for our MK/AK days. Main priorities would be a quick commute to MK, affordable & tasty food options, resort play options for the kids during downtime.

What would you choose?

As an overall resort, I prefer BRV. I love the theming, the activities, the proximity to Ft. W for even more activities and, in your case, the splash pad for younger children. However, if you want convenience to MK, you can’t beat BLT

That’s a tough one because both are awesome. BLT is a quick walk - or monorail ride - to the MK. It’s one of our home resorts and we love it. Your food options would be in the Contemporary - Chef Mickey’s for all meals, Contempo Cafe for “fast food”, Contemporary Grounds for coffees/smoothies/pastries, California Grill for dinner and weekend brunch. We just stayed at Boulder Ridge for the first time last month and were very impressed. Meal options there are Geyser Point (loved it for a leisurely lunch), Roaring Fork for all meals and Artist Point which is now a character dinner venue.

I can tell you the pools at BLT and the Contemporary are okay, but don’t really have any “wow” factor - the BLT pool is way too small for the resort IMHO and can get very crowded. The pools at the Wilderness Lodge are gorgeous and well worth a visit. The whole resort is amazing and fun to explore.

A one bedroom at BLT would be nice, but the studio will be really tiny, especially with four of you. You could walk to the MK and that would be the best perk of all between the two.

I'm not big on the CR theme so typically, this is last on my list in the MK area. BUT, with your needs it may be the best for you location wise. Another bonus in my mind is you have a lot of food options when you add in the other resorts in the area ( Poly, GF, WL )

IMO either location would be a great vacation but Bay Lake Tower can’t be beat when your looking for easy access to Magic Kingdom. Get the Theme Park View and you will have an amazing DVC experience your kids will remember forever.

We love BLT and it cannot be beat for convenience to MK. I will echo what a few others have said about the studio size though, it's tiny and feels very cramped. We never minded it when it was just the 2 of us, but once we had kids it got small and quick! 1 bedroom is the way to go at BLT.
